You know you’re a wine-o when…

Here are ten tell tale signs* that you’re a wine snob lover:

1. You have a post dedicated to [vegetarian & vegan] wine pairings.

2. You plan your day around wine club deliveries.

3. You buy crossword books that are wine themed.

4. Your husband is the president of the school’s wine club.

5. You drive 3 hours out of the way home to visit certain wine headquarters (in Modesto – ew).

6. Your family owns a vineyard.

7. Your travel revolves around which kinds of wine you prefer (Malbec).

8. Your wedding registry had more wine glasses than anything else.

9. A key selling point in moving to a new house was the extra wine storage.

10. Another selling point was the space to throw wine fueled parties.

Plate number one.  I. Heart. Sushi.

After everyone had their way with the spread, the only thing left was a single cucumber sunomono salad.  And a LOT of pickled ginger.  Two of my favorite things – hooray!

I think sushi is the perfect food to serve at a big party.  Whatever your guests’ dietary preferences, they can be accommodated.  Gluten free – check.  Vegetarian – check.  Pescetarian – check.  Vegan – check.  There’s something for everyone.  And the clean up couldn’t be easier.

Sushi parties are awesome.  Wine parties are too.  Combining the two?  Genius.

I am a RED WINE LOVER! I absolutely love the taste and discovering new flavors and new wines. The Alamos Malbec you have pictured is very delicious! I too love Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon! I saw Cabernet Sauvignon salt at Whole Foods the other day! How good would that be one home-made truffles? Or anything really?!?

    Wine’s good for you…antioxidants, right?!? 🙂

I’m not so into the wine. It gives me a headache and reminds me of growing up Catholic, and the additional guilt is something else I don’t need on top of the headache 😉

However, sushi is a different story. Give me a vegan roll and I’m a happy camper. But seriously…when inventing eating utensils, who thought chopsticks were a good idea? Especially with rice?

I need to be your neighbor, for real. We could be wino’s together, then eat sushi.
    😛

If we lived in the same country we may just be the best friends ever…. wine + sushi = win! I want to come to one of your parties for sure… actually you should visit New Zealand/Australia cos we make some pretty awesome wines Down Under – NZ for the whites, and Aussie for the reds, I can take you on a tour of both (my 2 homes!)

this post is awesome! i had a wine-filled MBA event last night too, but my headache today is prompting me to ask — what are your hippie approved tips for avoiding a hangover?

Great thing about being vegan is that I didn’t have to give up the wine! Where did you go in Modesto? We belong to a wine club to Boeger Winery…one of the best and affordable wineries near where I live. They have a great Tempranillo, which is one of my fave wines, along with Barbera and Malbec. Sadly, sushi is not the same for me when it is veganized…I used to enjoy bowls of sashimi over rice, but now my choices are just veggie rolls that, although are good, just don’t have that same appeal. I still got my wine though, and that’s all that matters!

we went to the gallo HQ. i love tempranillo…ill have to check out boeger. im normally a dry creek (sonoma) snob. 🙂

i agree on the veg sushi…its not the same. but a good seaweed salad is what i look forward to most.
