I’m really bringing it back to the old school style of blogging with a (mostly) full day of eats. I didn’t take pics of snacks or drinks, so you’ll have to use your imagination when it comes to the small carafe of decaf I guzzled down by 9 am.
I made a double batch of persimmon walnut bread with the last of the persimmons (hot tip: find yourself a neighbor with a tree they can’t keep up with and make friends!).
I froze one loaf, but we dug into the other right off the bat. Great way to start the day!
For lunch I used up a bunch of random things in the fridge, including kale, cabbage, roasted Brussels sprouts, sautéed tofu, avocado, and sesame dressing. I almost forgot nuts, but then I remembered to add some slivered almonds right before I dug in.
I also had a few carrots on the side and then a kombucha later in the afternoon.
Kyle grilled a tri-tip for dinner while I roasted potatoes and made a spinach salad. The tri-tip was marinated in the Nugget market burgundy pepper rub which is basically the only way I will eat tri-tip now. It’s insanely good.
The salad had roasted pecans, chevre, and dried cranberries with balsamic vinaigrette.
And then I finished off the day with some of this bar. I love that it is so salty! The sweetness of the milk chocolate and caramel is definitely a lot, but I had a few dark chocolate covered almonds too, so it wasn’t cloying. It’s one of my new fave bars, so I will probably try the other Tony’s flavors soon.
