Trying different things

I ate something different for breakfast every day this week!  That’s so unlike me!

Monday: two fried eggs + aged goat milk cheddar + avocado

Tuesday: open faced GF toast + aged goat milk cheddar + avocado

Wednesday: banana baked oatmeal + peanut butter + protein powder

Thursday: oatmeal + almond milk + raisins + peanut butter

Friday: Udi’s GF bagel + peanut butter + fried egg

Kinda been tweaking my morning routine to try and get more protein in on the days when I eat oats and toast.  Adding protein powder to peanut butter was okay, but I just ordered more peanut flour from amazon so I’m thinking I may use that too.  Eggs are great if I’m in a savory mood, but if I feel like a sweeter breakfast I want to make sure it has adequate protein too.  Otherwise it doesn’t cut it, and by 10 am I’m hungry again.  Nursing.  I tell ya!

I should definitely try to do this sometime! I’m guilty of always having the same breakfast day in and day out (cereal w/yogurt and banana). I like how you incorporated a variety for breakfast, it keeps things interesting!

Those all look super delicious and satisfying. I’ve been doing bircher meusli every single morning- basically stir raw oats (or meusli) with blended apple + water (I’m too lazy to shred it) and some organic yogurt overnight, then in the morning you just sprinkle some nuts on top or mix some nut butter in, then dig in. So satisfying!

I really cant deal with much for breakfasts, but i would have any of these for a dinner!
What about making some tempeh “bacon” for more bfast protein? The thin long slices baked with soy sauce and a tiny bit of liquid smoke are really very good.
I haven’t tried it myself but lots of people make oatmeal with an egg mixed in while cooking….

I so must get out of my breakfast rut as well!

you should try using egg whites for half of the water you put in your oatmeal!! it is amazing, so creamy/fluffy, and a great way to sneak protein into sweet breakfasts!

Have you ever used vitacost? The peanut flour is WAY cheaper than Amazon (at least it was last time I checked). I just ordered some last month and it was buy one get one half off…not sure if that is still going on or not, but it is cheaper than amazon either way. You should check it out!

I desperately need to change up my breakfast routine but I just can’t seem to be bothered to make anything fancy! I have a protein bar + fruit or almond butter/peanut butter toast + fruit every day. It’s easy and it fills me up…but a little variety would be nice!

I’ve heard good things about adding egg-whites to oatmeal for protein but I’ve never actually tried it myself. Maybe I’ll take some inspiration from you and make some new breakfasts this week!

yeah i cant decide if the eggy oats are something i will like or not. it seems weird, but lots of people like it so there must be something to it.

    Okay, sorry!

I’m totally the same way about eggs – in fact, the dippy yolk is my fav part 🙂 but I swear by 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup organic egg whites, and 1/2 cup water. I use a fork to mix it so that it all gets blended really wel at the start and then a few times while cooking. hope you like it!

ooo, ok now i think i trust it more then because i too am a bit yolk person. 🙂

do you buy the whites in the carton? are there organic kinds? ill have to check the grocery next time im there.

i know its a bummer, but the free shipping from amazon prime totally comes in handy (its my parents’ account). i swear i order off it once a week. i bought the 2 lb peanut flour and im pounding through it way too fast!

I buy the carton of organic ones at whole foods! make sure not to buy egg beaters or anything other than egg whites – I did that accidentally and it was gross.
