Zee plan above, photos and links to follow.
Yup, I made Jessica’s BLT chopped salad yet again. Kyle basically requests it every week now.
This (goat milk) feta is the bestest in the land. I have to go to Nugget market especially for it because WF doesn’t carry it. Last week I tried a different goat’s milk feta (from WF) and it funked up my gut. Boo.
Pulled pork and veggies and cornbread. Crock pot winner.
I don’t even know why I bother showing Caesar salads anymore. They’re standard. Nooch-ified per usual.
I made these raw vegan tacos by The First Mess but wasn’t too impressed by them.
The walnut “meat” was bland and I was still hungry at the end of the meal.
I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone was sick of seeing this avo & melon salad too – I’m not sick of eating it though! I changed things up ever so slightly by using shrimp as the protein.
So fresh and so clean clean.
And that’s the week!
If you were wondering why there are days missing…
Weekends and Wednesdays are never included in the meal plan. On Wednesdays we go to farmers market and eat there (lots of restaurants have stands). This week I got a corn dog from The Hotdogger. I finally finally branched out (creature of habit right here) because I almost always get Buckhorn Grill’s broccoli slaw or Our House’s Caesar salad. The Hotdogger doesn’t offer corn dogs in their restaurant, just hot dogs, so they are a farmer’s market treat. The condiments are the real highlight though. They have so many kinds of mustard it’s overwhelming! I wish I had more hands to carry back tiny samples of every one. I went with a Hawaiian pineapple sweet mustard (I can’t actually remember it’s name). Anyway, now that I’ve had a Hotdogger corn dog I feel like an official Davis-ite. Actually, it was my first corn dog (in life) so now I’m an official human.
Weekends are often left open in case we have leftovers (or social lives!).
This past weekend we had a party which included SO MUCH YUM. We BBQ-ed and our friends brought really great food to share. People were so thoughtful – texting me about various ingredients and dishes they were planning on bringing beforehand to see if they were okay for P’s allergies. So amazing, so kind. I feel so fortunate to have made such awesome friends here.
The above is the best Mexican grilled corn I’ve ever tasted. The saucy sauce was a mayo based deliciousness with lime and cotija cheese. I literally had zero GI issues with it. And holy heck was it good. I bet it was a fluke, so I’m going to consider it a one time success.
I’ve always wanted to try grilled corn with mayo – looks amazing! A yummy week of food at your house 🙂
I love your little chalk board planner! So cute and fun!
Looks like a great summery menu! I miss salad-themed meals in the summer, but alas, married life. My dinner ends up being a salad-y rendition of whatever “man food” I’ve whipped up for the hubs!
