Post vacation cleansing

Part of the problem with doing such a good job of eating everything in the fridge before you go on vacation is that you return home to LITERALLY NOTHING. We had a crazy first day home…from the second we landed we were go go going.  It was a text book (and literal) definition of hitting the ground running. Straight from the airport to swimming and then off to Costco and finally Trader Joe’s…phew. As is customary after a long time away from your own kitchen, Kyle and I were both looking to clean up our… Read more >

The end of Idaho and the start of Summer

Hey hey hey!  Welcome to our view of Lake Payette from the Shore Lodge in McCall. We were supposed to have randomly terrible weather over the weekend, but then the storm shifted directions and we wound up getting clear skies until the moment we packed up to head back home. Before I get to the time we spent at the resort in McCall, I have to mention Golden Fork hot springs in the town of Donnelly.  We stopped on the way and had a picnic lunch.  It was my first time in a natural hot… Read more >

I’m getting spoiled

Imagine waking up and working out and showering and then coming out to have your kids fed and occupied and this spread left before you… I mean seriously.  Is this heaven? Not being a foodie

Final day in Chi town!  (Do people call it that?  Am I like the people who call SF “frisco” and think it’s a thing and everyone else from the Bay Area cringes in agony?) Here’s a shot of our gym on the 30th floor.  As you can see, the weather was still sluggish. Kyle had a weird reaction (chills/night sweats) the previous night and swore it was from the insanely indulgent food and basically refused to join me at Do-Rite Donuts the next day.  I gave him plenty of crap for it (because 99% of the… Read more >

Hi vibe avec my husband

I’m going to race through the rest of our time in Chicago now just to show the food highlights. Kyle and I were in the mood for a healthier start to the day so we hit up Hi Vibe Juicery for acai bowls. They have so many awesome options on the menu, but we both went with the classic acai bowl only I subbed stevia for honey.  The maca almond butter on top was incredible.  Totally made us feel like we were in Hawaii even though we were actually huddled under an overhang while eating… Read more >
