Kohlrabi noodles

I made this over a week ago and totally forgot to post about it! Apparently I am a MAJOR sucker for a veggie in spiralized form.  I saw this bag of kohlrabi linguine at WF when I was in the produce section grabbing more spiralized butternut squash noodles. I’m including this photo of the back because I thought it had good ideas and I wanted to remember to make them when I get them next time.  Butter and cheese may be obvious, but bacon and snap peas!?  Yum! I took a lazy-ish twist on the butter… Read more >

What I Ate

While on a freezer deep dive for breakfast I found this batch of carrot cake muffins in the WAY WAY back.  Hooray!  I was in the mood for a muffin with nut butter. New product finds

Last week’s “secret special” at Nugget market was a FREE CARTON of walnut milk.  Yes please! Marketing work well done, Mariani, because I wouldn’t have tried this unless it was heavily discounted (or free) and now I love love love it.  It even replaced the mocha Califia I add in my morning coffee, which is saying a lot because that’s been my “treat” for my first cup of joe for a long long time now. The walnut milk is a slightly healthier option (meaning it doesn’t have chocolate or caffeine), although it is still sweetened… Read more >

Fireworks and tummy aches

RED WHITE AND BLUE!!!! The 4th of July is one of the best days to live in Davis.  This year, once again, did not disappoint. We rode our bikes downtown first thing in the morning, grabbed coffees at Starbucks and went to the see/walk in the parade. Family pic! After which, we headed to Cafe Bernardo for brunch. Usually we go to Crepeville, but the bike course didn’t go past it this year, so we decided to change it up so that we could watch the races.  But then everyone else had the same idea,… Read more >

My first Korean BBQ

This post has been a long time coming.  I think I mentioned it a while back, but I’ve been obsessed with Korean food for a while, but HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY BEEN to a Korean restaurant.  One of my best girlfriends is Korean, and we talk food alllll the time.  She knows I’m a foodie and I’ve been begging her to take me to a Korean restaurant (or just cook for me???) for way too long.  She finally caved. [Back story: the reason it took so long is because her standards are way way high.  She… Read more >
