Oregon and Idaho II

It was really hard to edit down the photos I have from our time with Kyle’s fam (and I feel like I barely took any pics!). We see them so infrequently that the week of togetherness is very important for grandkid bonding. Now that the kids are older, it feels so sweet when they recall things from past trips to Idaho. I’m glad we are all making these memories…even if there are such long stretches of time in between. All the cousins! Last I left off, we had just packed up after our time in… Read more >

7 quick meals

This is an old post that I never got around to sharing but when it comes to weeknight dinner inspo, I figure it’s better late than never. This was one of those meals that I came up with about an hour before we had to eat. It had leaf lettuce (the last the CSA has for the season), roasted sweet potatoes, roasted walnuts, and dates with a mustard maple vinaigrette. Checks all the boxes! Well, almost all the boxes…in a perfect world it would either have avo or some kind of cheese…but this was still… Read more >

Kids podcasts

Occasionally I post on Instagram stories about the podcasts we (me + the kids) listen to and I always get so many questions about it, so I figured I’d write out a quick list of some of their favorites. I’m pretty picky about what I let my kids have access to, so these are all pretty well vetted in terms of content, language, etc. Science WOW in the World-This was our first kids podcast we ever listened to and so it is near and dear to our hearts. P likes it more than V, but… Read more >

Zucchini twice

This happens every summer… I have a million zucchini and not enough recipes. Luckily this year I have a new cookbook to help me out… Just like Ottolenghi’s other cookbooks, this one is full of hits. The best part about these recipes, though, is that they are quicker to make (hence the name – Simple)! How good does stuffed zucchini with pine nut salsa sound?! So good right. Well guess what. Kyle even agreed. Yes, you read that right. I convinced my pickle/cucumber/zucchini/dill hating husband to eat summer squash. Praise be!!! Talk about opening a… Read more >

Morgan’s blueberry U-pick

Last weekend we had one on one dates with the kids. I know I’ve mentioned that we do this every couple of months or so, but just in case you missed those posts, it’s nothing major. Just a half or full day of time where we split off into twosomes and enjoy the quality time. Last month I went mini golfing with P (followed by a sushi dinner date) while Kyle took V to the city pool. This time we swapped kids and Kyle took P to the zoo, while V and I went blueberry… Read more >
