New kitchen additions

Like a true introvert, I got a little excited when some of our weekend plans fell through because I was in need of a low key couple of days.  We had some fun stuff planned (a local kids production of A Christmas Carol, church, farmer’s market, the usual…) but no dinner events.  Which meant I was free to shop for what I was in the mood for in that very moment. Kyle felt like salmon and we hadn’t had it in a while, so that was how Saturday’s dinner came about. We also had cilantro… Read more >

In search of breakfast ideas

I’m sorry if the gobble link wasn’t working…gobble sent me a code to give you guys instead, so have at it with 50DPARTNER Moving on… Mondays amiright? My photos just uploaded all out of order, so now I have to sort out what day was what.  I told you my memory was crap lately, didn’t I? I had a MOPS meeting so I ate the zucchini banana bread I shared in my last post for breakfast.  THREE slices of it to be exact, because I was hunnnngry by the time we ate. Ho Ho Ho in So Cal

I’m happy to report back to you all that it IS IN FACT POSSIBLE to drive 10 hours with a 2 and 4 year old without using an iPad (or any screen time for that matter). Now, truth be told, we brought the iPad along just in case things were really dire, but I also packed a TON of activities for them – felt toys, magnetic games, books, cds and books ON cds. Each had their own discman and headphones so there would be no arguing and Kyle and I wouldn’t have to listen to… Read more >

LA LA land, day 4

The real world all went back to work on Monday, but we got to keep on vacationing.  🙂 Breakfast with my squad at Coral Tree Cafe. Kyle and I studied here together a few times in college…and went here on a date very early in our relationship…so even though the food is mediocre, it’s still a special place. We started with coffee and a chocolate chip scone.  The scone was delish.  Probably the best part of the meal. They charge an obscene 75 cents extra for soy milk (per cup), but were generous enough to give… Read more >

I am spartan

Over the summer, we decided we needed something to inspire us to stay active during the colder months and so we ended up signing up for a Spartan race in early November.  We even managed to convince my sisters to do it with us.  Thanks to a promo code, we didn’t break the bank (it’s normally $100 per entry) and it got us pumped to “train” for the months leading up to it. Kyle and I created mini workouts at a local park (which P has hereafter dubbed “the exercise park”) and while I felt like… Read more >
