…I’ll be at a NYE party that is klassy and doesn’t involve plastic red cups.
…this will be enough EtOH for a group of 20.
(this was only 1/3 of the actual drank)
…”dinner” will not mean chips, salsa, pretz, and chocolate…
…or B- and fruit.
…five sips of champagne won’t give me the drunkface “glow.”
…sledding with my sisters will not involve my dad’s overall ski-outfit from the 70’s.
…we will get an accurate head count before piling into a car with one too few seats (there are a couple of people not visible in the photo due to the painful backseat cramming).
…we will do more research before driving 2 hours to the snow.
…and I will remember to remove my stunna shades goggles for sister photos.
…I’ll get to hang my ornaments sooner than a day before the tree comes down.
…Puck will think of me even though he is serenading Quinn.
…eating hummus and falafel for 4 days straight will get old (just kidding, I hope that day never comes!!).
…my love for apples will translate to success in the game.
…my dad won’t be as infatuated with steak as I am with heaps of veggies.
…I will be living closer to my family and spending 4 days in CA for the holidays will be as ridiculous as it seems.
Maybe in 2010? Maybe not.
Supercute post! I too hope for the day one day soon where my classy nights out don’t involve red cups and chips… Haha.
And yummmmmm to that last shot of grilled veggies!
Happy New Year!
So fun! I’m pissed that you can even make bad snow overalls look so good. And if I looked that good on champagne, we’d have a lot more kids.
Hahah this is such a great post, it made me smile:)
oh, and I also wish that my love of apples translates into my ability to play the game… but that’s highly unlikely.
some things will just never change.. praying that excessive hummus eating and my fav. hungry hippie in the world are two of those things 🙂
AHHHH everything looks freaking right up my alley!! YUM.
You are actually rocking those overalls and I must say Im quite jealous that you “glow” after champagne.. I always immediately looked like death and “that drunk girl”.
Enjoy your weekend, hun! 🙂
Ahh I have the same exact snow suit that was my mom’s in the 80s, it is the best because snow doesn’t get in your pants when you fall – that is the worst feeling ever.
Also, I want to reach into the screen and and grab your grilled veggies for dinner tonight. Yuu-um.
Ahh but I think you look extremely hot with your:
“five sips of champagne won’t give me the drunkface “glow.””
LOVE that glow. And once upon a time it took about a hundred bucks to get me drunk and give me that glow. Now, it takes about 1 sip. I broke my dry spell for the 1st time in 5 yrs last week! On half of a pina colada. I know, big timing it!
Stunna shades = love.
xoxo
Cute post! And those shish kabobs of veggies = drool.
HOW FUN!! i LOVE you in those ski bibs! so freaking cute!
What to say, but OMG.
One of these days, you and I are splitting a beer and getting wasted 🙂
i’m sorry to report but Solo cups are here to stay 😉 love the abundance of hummus and falafel and pretzels and veggies – my favorite munchies too! happy new year – your post made me laugh a lot!!
Haha … love those overalls! ; )
Apples to Apples is the best!!
those falafel look amazing (though those cookies might look a leeeettle more delicious haha)…and even classy parties involve plastic red cups!
…oh. they don’t? psh, that’s just absurd.
my daddio also has a pair of stunna ski suits like that, and i am pretty sure there are some really incriminating photos of me wearing them somewhere.
LOVE all that hummus action – i cannot find those chickpea balls, and i am pissed about it. they sound FAB!
yay for spending time with fam – happy new year, lots of love and FUN to you in 2010!!!!!!
Haha I loved this post! Glad you’re having such a fun time in Cali:)
Snack plates look wicked good! I am craving one now! Dinner looks great as well!
Jenna
HAHA! i played apples to apples ALL this break! thats hilarious man. it looks like you me and K need to get together for a serious game of apps to apps. i’ll bring the apples, you bring the hummus, K will bring the game.
done and done.
Hey–at least you got your name on your red plastic cup, lol! That is pretty special 🙂 I am always scared when everyone is drinking out of the same cups that someone is going to drink out of mine and I am going to drink out of someone elses…ewwww. I am weird, I know.
I love you and your humor and your eats and your posts, Elise! Happy New Year!
Courtney
I laughed more and more as I kept scrolling. Your ‘glow’ is gorgy! My ‘glow’ is typically beat red. After playing Apples to Apples for the first time at 2AM on NYE, I’ve concluded that that game was created for sarcastic people like us. Where else can you get away with saying that communism is perfect?
Hey, I just found you blog through someones blog roll. Amongst the 50 something names, yours stuck out the most. Love it. Anyway, just read all about you and your fabulous NYC hippie life. I lived in Vermont for 7 years and developed my own hippy traits. Gotta love it. Anyways, you and your sis are gorgeous. Welcome home from CA!
Lindsay
Yeah I wouldn’t mind having Puck seranade me just a little. 🙂
Maybe one of these days you won’t do all those things, but then one of these days you wouldn’t make me laugh as much! Harumph. 😉
LOL at the red plastic cups! We have graduated from those. Took getting married and very BIG registry to do so, but we got there. 😉
I just love this post 🙂 Makes me happy. How cute are you in that picture with the red cup of champagne? You make it look classy 🙂 And dad’s ski pants…classic!
hahah aw cute post- love all the pics & i love apples to apples!! so funny about the red plastic cups.

Some things should never change, and some things will in their own time! But for what it’s worth, please keep the overalls 😉
