No recipe chili

I don’t have much to say…so I’m not sure why I’m here, but I took photos of this big pot of chili that I made (which is now gone) so I thought I may as well post them.

It feels comforting to do some of the same things in the midst of everything else being different.

I’m glad I got the 8 quart IP. I use it once a week minimum – often while the 6 quart is simultaneously occupied (with oats or hard boiled eggs or some grain that I need cooked stat).

I got the pinto beans from Farm Fresh to You. As well as the ground beef. And the onion. The code ELIS5262 gets you $15 off your first box if you are interested in trying it out.

The tomatoes were from last year’s canning extravaganza. They are the LAST jar I have in the pantry so after this I’m going to have to find an (online) source of canned tomatoes or else wait patiently for tomato season to be in full swing. It shouldn’t be too much longer…it’s starting to get really warm in Davis!

Per usual, I sautéed the onion with olive oil and spices. Then browned the ground beef. Then added the tomatoes and their juice and dried beans. Cooked under pressure until they were done and then added quinoa and broth and cooked under pressure again.

And ta-da!

A fan fave.
