Another day, another acai bowl.
Kyle got one too. Twins!
We went to return our puzzles and decided to stay for the craft because why not?
So they each decorated a beach ball before we brought them to the pool with us to test out. 🙂
Some things are SO pricey in grocery stores which makes sense because they come all the way from the main land. But then there are times when I’ve been shocked at specialty foods that are somehow cheaper in Hawaii. Like Field Roast’s vegan CHAO cheese. What the what!!? I haven’t tried it because it is cost prohibitive here in CA, but I was very tempted to get it in Maui just because it was on discount. Simple Mills products were also very cheap at Safeway. No idea.
We went back to Aloha Mixed Plate for dinner because (as I mentioned before) I thought my short ribs were one of the best meals I’d had on our whole vacation.
And guess what. I ordered them again. Because I’d be a fool not to. It was just as good, if not better, than I remembered.
Aloha Mixed Plate FTW.
The kids got the teriyaki chicken plate (which had plenty of leftovers to bring home for their lunch the next day).
And Kyle got the Mixed Plate with fish, chicken, and kalbi ribs.
He and I licked our plates clean. Those short ribs remain the best thing I had in Maui. Everything from the tender melt in your mouth meat to the taro-cauli mash to the kimchi was perfection. Simply amazing.
And then we came home and did more of this.
I may need to re-calibrate my sweet tooth after vacation.
