Going old school with the “what I ate” style blogging.
For breakfast I went to Crepeville with a coworker. She was just getting off (a really crappy) night shift, so she vented to me and I listened. P spent the morning throwing things from the stroller to the ground. Whatever keeps you amused little man.
I got the tofu scramble which comes with both hash browns and a bagel. The portions at Crepeville are massively massive (LOVE!!!) so I took home the leftovers for Kyle. Which is the bagel you see above.
Seriously Crepeville has never disappointed me. I freakin’ love the place. We have another breakfast date next week and I kinda wanna go to Crepeville again. Maybe I should get a crepe one of these times.
Anyway, for lunch I had more brown rice pasta with hemp pesto, spinach, and a fried egg.
In the afternoon I had a serious fro yo craving so I busted this guy out…
Kyle’s parents hooked me up with this beauty for my birthday and I can tell it’s gonna be a blessing and a curse. I cleaned it and froze it so the next day I could get my frosty dessert face on. Send me recipes!!! If you have a good non-dairy recipe, please leave it (or a link) in the comments section.
In the meantime I made a smoothie. I got these fresh juiced greens in the mail a few weeks ago from Juice-Today.
Because they were immediately frozen after they were juiced, they tasted like they were freshly pressed!
I blended the green one with canned coconut milk. Love! Highly recommend this product! You can make your own mixes too.
For dinner I had the rest of the cheesy broccoli soup with a big salad.
The salad had forbidden rice, sweet potato, carrots, spinach, and tofurky Italian sausage.
All mixed up.
I had chocolate for dessert. Justin’s now makes candy bars. OMG omg OMG! They also sell their PB cups at Costco. Just what I need…a Costco sized pack of peanut butter cups. So about this candy bar. Yes. If you see it at your local grocery store just do it.
I LOVE how the ingredients in your salad sound! It looks great, too, and so colorful.
I bought a bag of Justin’s peanut butter cups when they were on sale at Whole Foods, and they are awesome! I will be in trouble if they ever come to my local Costco… 🙂
Yeah, icecreammakers are fun… My favourite for small icecreams are bananas and coconutmilk. Later i found this page: http://www.buzzfeed.com/rachelysanders/amazing-vegan-ice-cream-recipes
hopefully they’re useful for you!
justin’s candy bars?! yessssss
I’ve been thinking of buying a Justin’s Candy Bar… sounds like a must!
Oh yes! Justin’s candy bars rock! I think they have two different kinds – an almond one and a peanut one. I have had both, but I don’t know if there are any more than that. I live in central Illinois and just noticed last month that Annie’s (the same people who make the organic snack items) candy bars are being stocked at my Kroger. They are all organic and $2 a piece….and super yummy! Keep your eyes peeled for those if you haven’t already seen them!
yessssss
perfect!! exactly what i was looking for 🙂
I forget which post had your sausage-vegetable soup in it, but I made it this week and it was awesome. I made it from stock that I made from cornish game hens (I know, not your thing but from WF, organic, free range, sustainable farmed, blah blah) and tossed in all the veggies plus tofu since my kids think it’s candy and it was uh-mazing.
The only problem is that I foresee a time in my life where even a hearty soup plus grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner won’t be filling enough for my growing kiddos (even my husband sort of quietly spends the evening eating cereal after soup night) so I will have to start adding other food to support it. *sigh*
you’re welcome!
You can use your vitamix to make ice cream/sorbet/froyo too. I do it all the time!

Love this recipe for “ice cream”
My bad! It’s Amy’s brand – not Annie’s – and they have milk in them…boo…I should have known. I was at work when I left that comment earlier and didn’t have the candy bar around. When I got home and saw it, I noticed my comment was wrong. Regardless, they are still really good if you can tolerate cow’s dairy.
every time i saw “crepeville” i kept reading it as “CREEPville”!! still laughing 🙂 i love any of your pictures where you put an egg over whatever food is on your plate. food should always have an egg over it.
Aw bummer. I do remember seeing that Amy’s made candy a while back and was sad it was w dairy 🙁
Ha. Creepville is not an inviting name at all.
AHH those candy bars! I had one at Whole Foods last week and thought I had died and went to heaven! So amazing.
Yeah… not only did I get into the bad habit of ordering Justin’s PB Cups in bulk online, but I found out at Whole Foods if you buy a whole box (12) you get a discount. *sigh* It’s a dark path I walk indeed… :p
