I’ve been keeping a secret from you guys.
For months and months and months I’ve been working on a FODMAPs free cookbook that is vegan friendly.
You see, since discovering how my gut is affected by FODMAPs back last year, I immediately knew I had to share this knowledge. But the more and more research I did, the more I found meat-centric meal plans that seriously lacked plant based foods. As you all well know, I am a veggie lover. So I set to work finding a way to make the FODMAPs lifestyle work for me.
I’ve been testing these recipes for a long time.
What I have assembled is a 10 day elimination diet that is entirely FODMAPs free (according to the very latest research) and is 100% vegetarian (and 99.9% vegan).
Each day of the plan has three meals and a snack, and every recipe is included. And even though it’s 10 days of food, the recipes make several servings, so you will have leftovers to last many days longer.
I’ve also included excessive notes about the ingredients and possible tweaks to make them adaptable for almost every diet and food allergy/sensitivity, while still remaining FODMAPs free.
Hopefully this will help anyone and everyone who suspects their GI pain is caused by FODMAP sensitivities. 10 days, guys. 10 days!! Try it.

That’s is so great, Congratulations!!! Can’t wait to read it.
I so wish that I could buy this!
Unfortunately with my IBS I’ve found that soy is one of my worst triggers, and soy is pretty hard to avoid in a vegan diet (which would explain why when I WAS vegan I was in seriously bad shape and in the hospital all the time).
Dang girl, you’ve been busy!
I agree with Ellen that soy is a major no-no for me, but I have found your other tips helpful from the site and know others will find this ebook as a great resource.
Go Elise!
YES!!! I so need to buy this. Thanks ELise!
ditto!
Thanks Elise!!! Congrats! And can’t wait to check it out!
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!! CONGRATS AND WELL DONE, YOU ARE HELPING SO MANY OTHERS <3
Thank you so much!
As a vegan I’ve been trying my best to eliminate fodmaps. Your blog(s) have been life changers for my IBS.
Really looking forward to reading this.
Your curiosity and generosity is truly remarkable.
I definitely want to check out this book because I’d really like to try the elimination diet. I had a doctor tell me not to eat gluten or soy and it’s helped but not entirely eliminated my issues. I am not a vegetarian and since I can’t eat soy (and I assume there’s plenty of tofu in your book) do you think it would be safe for me to substitute things like whole eggs, fish or chicken in place of soy-based proteins?
oh my gosh! congratulations Elise!! That is so exciting!! The cover looks fantastic. So happy for you:)
I’m so excited! I have huge IBS problems, and I’ve wanted to try eliminating FODMAPS for a long time but never got around to it. It’ll be much easier now! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
FODMAPs overlaps a lot with gluten free, but it’s technically wheat free because it’s due to a sensitivity to the carbohydrate not the protein. i have a seitan recipe which is which made with vital wheat gluten and would therefore not be acceptable for someone who has celiac. are you allergic to wheat or gluten? or are you sensitive to one or the other? or do not know which is your problem? in any event, the recipes in the plan make way more food than 10 days’ worth so you can just skip the meal that calls for seitan.
as for soy, it can be swapped out for hardboiled eggs (or scrambled eggs) in every recipe except the tofu ricotta “cheese” recipe. again, its your call if you want to try this or simply have the leftovers from another day.
good luck!
thank you!!
im glad this will be helpful greta!
thank you kendra!!
thank you annie. hearing feedback like this makes me so happy 🙂
thanks guys!
for all but one recipe, the soy can be swapped for scrambled or hardboiled eggs. obviously this makes the recipe vegetarian as opposed to vegan, but in the interest of finding out if FODMAPs are you problem, it may be worth it.
do you guys tolerate tempeh? or is that also a no go?
hey ellen, thats such a bummer and im sorry it took multiple hospital visits before you figured it out 🙁
do you tolerate tempeh?
for all but one tofu recipe, you can either swap scrambled or hardboiled eggs in, in case you still want to give it a try.
thanks!!
🙂
i use GF tempeh from time to time but will definitely substitute eggs. Yumm!
freaking awesome! i am gonna do this. not today, or tomorrow, but eventually. i need to give it a fair shot. nice work on such a big accomplishment!
I’m not actually allergic to gluten or wheat, as far as actual testing went, but I do have an intolerance to gluten based on the nutrition response testing my doctor did in October. I actually did try a recipe that called for vital wheat gluten and it didn’t go so well with my stomach, haha, so I avoid the meal with seitan. And swapping in eggs will be perfect since I love them and they are cheap! Thank you for taking the time to help, I’m excited to try this out!
Eggs work great! I think I’ll give it a go. Thanks!
I can’t wait to try out the 10 day elimination! I’m a huge fan of your site but really only for the vegan recipes – I’ve never really followed a fodmap free diet but I’m curious to see if it would help with my tummy issues! Thanks so much for taking time our of your busy life to help others! I’m clicking over to buy it right now!

Congratulations, Elise! That is so exciting! I don’t necessarily follow at low FODMAPS diet at present, but I’ve been vegan for 2 1/2 years and am now trying to eliminate gluten. I may get the book soon! Thanks for your blog; I love it!
This is awesome, Elise – well done 🙂
How awesome! Congrats!
OMG, congrats Elise! This is fabulous. I *totally* need this in a bad way. Thank you!!
Courtney
AHHHH! You are my new fav person – the most annoying thing about IBS and fructose allergy is that every recipe is FULL of meat!! Since I’ve been leaning pretty heavily on your recipes since I first became diagnosed around 2 months ago I had no choice but to buy it to repair my karma 🙂
Ps. Is it just me or is this book a complete steal?
PPS. Thanks for writing this!!
Look at you! How exciting is this?! Congrats and well done!
Hey, I bought your book and tried “Cheesy” Faux-mage Spirals. It was awesome. My boyfriend loved it as well. I am not sure if I have IBS but I am having troubles with bloating and feeling really tired after having eaten food like corn, corn meal, gluten, and the like. I have not figured out yet what exactly causes these issues but perhaps FODMAPS helps a little. I am excited to try more of your recipes. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Just bought it! YAY!!! Congratulations fpic!!!
That is so cool that you made a book! Congrats! I’m sure it was hard work but you’ve now made it possible for so many people to figure out what works for them too! (:
Elise, wow! I downloaded the book and it looks great! It is thanks to your blog that I discovered FODMAPS, and my life is changing so much for the better! I am now on an elimination diet prescribed by Kate Scarlata, and your book will certainly help. You should be proud of how much you are helping others! 🙂

Elise! That’s so awesome! you go girl!!! In all your spare time to pull this one off…congrats!
Hey Elise, I tried your Coconut Ginger Muffins which turned out great and the Pesto Pasta. I am just wondering if the hemp seeds are shelled. I used those with the shell still on and the shells were a bit annoying… 🙂 I have the rest as a salad for lunch today. Thanks again for the recipes. Cannot wait to try more.
I am soooo happy for you, Elise! Great job! You truly have the writer’s gift as well as good sense and great taste! May God bless you- He loves you! John 3:16 Love, Angela
Bought it yesterday! Thanks for all your hard work putting it together!
i used hulled hemp seeds. no shells. hope that helps 🙂
Elise, thanks so much for putting this together. I’ve made a ton of the recipes and they are all delicious! You’ve made me an almond milk convert!I’m having a coconut muffin now (but added unsweetened shredded coconut and dark chocolate chips…). Delicious! It’s been an immensely helpful resource as I figure out what I can and can’t eat. I look forward to more recipe ideas from you!
hi meg! that makes me so happy. arent those ginger muffins awesome!?! your additions sound perfect too!
thank you so so much angela! this comment warmed my heart 🙂
thanks for the support sharon – hope you enjoy it 🙂
This is totally awesome!! When I read in your latest post that you were “done with the book” I was like, “Whoa, hold up! What’d I miss?!” Sorry I’ve fallen so far behind…I feel like I’ll never catch up with all my bloggy buddies, but I’ll do my best! 🙂
thanks girl!!
