We don’t have any set in stone traditions regarding when we put up our Christmas tree, but it does seem like we are always on the earlier side of the range.
This year we waited until the Saturday after Thanksgiving, which was actually late compared to past years. Thats said, we have been playing Christmas music for a couple of weeks already. The weather turned cold mid-November and that seems to be my cue…
According to a study people who put up decorations sooner are happier. I don’t think that’s a double blind, peer reviewed research study though, as much as internet clickbait, if you know what I mean.
Silly elves.
I food prepped on and off all day while they played with the new decorations and danced around to holiday music.
I had a snacky lunch.
And then made delicious salads for dinner.
It feels like I’m eating 1-2 sweet potatoes a day right now. Tis the season!!
I was too lazy to do a full on shopping trip, so I only got dinner ingreds. I have NO motivation to get groceries these days, but I’m not into the online shopping companies, so I just have to suck it up. I feel like I have this issue every Winter. I’m a total wuss you guys. I’m a fair weather fan. If it’s cold and wet, I’m out. I want to wear athleisure wear and bury myself under blankets and never leave the house. Hey farmer’s market, see you in Spring!
In the meantime, I guess I’ll be sprinting in and out of Nugget while the kiddos are in school. Not having them does make parts of shopping exponentially easier.
Balsamic vinaigrette + kale + roasted sweet potatoes + candied pecans + goat cheese
Everyone is happy!
There are only 92 days until Spring, but who’s counting…
