We had an afternoon with nothing planned so I asked P what he wanted to do and he said “art projects”…
His painting skills are changing before my eyes and it’s cool to watch. There was purposeful color coordination and attempts at doing one object at a time. Lil Picasso. 😛
This is what it looks like when you go to Costco for the first time after your child “outgrows” a tree nut allergy. Ha. Fodmaps-wise I may be really sensitive to pistachios. I never noticed it before, but I’ve had handfuls here and there lately and I think it’s the cause of some IBS flares. I’m not used to big symptoms (I can get by with minor ones fine) so this was a surprise and reminded me of the old days. Note to self: don’t get cocky. I have this master plan to get my GI tract back on track (like 100% awesome) by following a strict fodmaps free diet after I stop nursing but it’s a lofty goal and who knows if and when it will actually happen. It seems sad to go back to more restrictions now that P is outgrowing some of his. But my rationale is that if I fix my gut I will be able to eat more freely which will make for a less limited future.
I haven’t gone a day without Vega protein powder in my breakfast in one way or another in so long. Aside from the break while on vacation in Hawaii, I have had it in either waffles, smoothies, or some other baked good for months on end.
I prefer Vega One, but they are all good. The only real problem with Vega sport is that it is super fine and the powder gets everywhere if you aren’t careful. Oh, and it doesn’t have chia or flax which are important to make my smoothies thick. Vega One has the perfect blend of all that stuff, plus delish flavors. Fun to try new things though.
You’d think we would be over fish for a bit after Hawaii but there was a massive sale on ahi steaks soooo…we got three for the price of one.
Meaning poke bowls. Of sorts.
