For some reason, I was in the snack food aisle of WFs last week (I usually stick to the perimeter of the store) and my browsing led to this purchase…
Vegan, gluten free, chocolate…no wonder they caught my eye.
I’ve tried a few Enjoy Life products before – mostly granola and cereals (back when I was in nursing school and still hated nuts). Being an allergy conscious company, I appreciated the no nut guarantee they offered.
The ingredients list is a bit long, but they are all recognizable to me. The date paste and sunflower seed butter were especially intriguing.
And at only 120 kcals per bar, you better believe I was curious about how well it could sate my chocolate sweet tooth.
First things first. Appearance-wise, the product could use some work. I could tip-toe around the matter, but that’s not me. It looks like a turd.
Taste-wise, it wasn’t what I expected, but it grew on me. It’s somewhat of a cross between a tootsie roll and a power bar, both in texture and flavor. It’s really not that sweet at all, but it doesn’t taste “healthy” either. It’s on the smaller side, so I was worried it wouldn’t hold me over very well, but it actually packs a pretty mighty punch.
I have already finished off the first box and bought my second. [And for me to buy bars over and over again, you know they have to be good]
Well done Enjoy Life! Maybe I’ll start trying your other products as well. Has anyone tried their goods? Anything to recommend?
I use their mini chocolate chips when I bake and their chocolate bars are okay.
I am in love with Enjoy Life’s chocolate granola.
I’ve used it in trail mix, on top of Greek yogurt, on top of oats, on top of smoothies…okay, you get my drift!
Same idea – nut free, gluten free. So tasty!

These looks like they could be good even though it’s just a brown lump! But I’m worried there’s wayyy too much sugar in there between the chocolate chips, the rice syrup, and the cane sugar! My body just doesn’t like sugar. Any advice on good bars (gluten-free) that you like that are also low sugar? I know you sometimes use them for a treat, but for the ones that are more of a real snack/meal replacement. Thanks!!
there are 5 g sugar in a bar. in my opinion, thats not so much. truly, they arent that sweet.
larabars are vegan and GF but have upwards of 20 g sugar (even though they are naturally sweetened with dates). ill keep my eyes out and try to think of ones for you.
I love these bars. The sunbutter ones are delish and the caramel apple ones are pretty good. : )
I love their chocolate chips! It makes it so easy, knowing it’s vegan without reading the ingredients. My boyfriend promised me a WF trip while I’m visiting this weekend, maybe I’ll try these!
I tried some of their trail mixes a couple years ago and really like them–lots of sunflower and pumpkin seeds!
I completely love their soft baked cookies…every variety I’ve tried so far. I also really like the Sunbutter crunch and the Caramel Apple bars. Being vegan and allergic soy and nuts, I love knowing that I can pick up their products and be safe. These are great to throw in my bag before a 12 hour day of clinicals.
I have never tried any of their stuff, but those sound pretty good! I love power bars and tootsie rolls! 🙂
It kind of looks like a giant tootsie roll (which also looks like a turd). I’ve seen those in the store though and was also curious.
*thumps up* from your fellow box turner – no strange ‘natural’ flavours in that list 🙂
eek…*thumbs up*!
Wow only 5g! That looks good then! I’ll look for these. Thanks!
I find it so hard to find bars that are low sugar, especially without agave which doesn’t like me very much. I’m up for homemade ones but most recipes call for dates or honey to hold them together.
