I wouldn’t even know where to begin. It was such a stressful (work filled) weekend, I’m just glad it’s over and I made it through. I am far too exhausted to type, so I won’t be sharing the latest ICU happs. Instead, I’ll stick to the food. Saturday’s pre-packed snacks/lunch included some oldies (pistachio, almond, goji, dried cranz mix), TJ’s “Go Rah” Trek Mix bar, dried fruit, yadda yadda – and some newbies. I have seen these MoJo bars throughout the blog world before, but thought they were some urban legend. Turns out, they are… Read more >

In the interest of…well…interest, this post is going to be super short. Nothing remotely exciting happened today. 5 AM – I woke up to the annoying buzz, buzz, buzzzzzz of my alarm 7AM to 7 PM – Workface Please direct all questions about my lunch to your mom the comments section. I doubt you’ll have any, it’s not like this was anything new… Oh wait, there was this: How’d that fatty sneak it’s way into my chickpeas???? The main thrill of the day was the medical staff appreciation mini-shindig thingy that the hospital hosted at… Read more >

Yes. I have it. And although flair ups have been minimal since I’ve been vegan, I DO still have days when I feel like caca (ironically, from the absence of it). TMI? Sorry. Usually these days are brought on by stress, and as much as I try to avoid it (with my nice planned out schedules), sometimes life throws a wrench in it. Unavoidable. Deal. This weekend, with my 3 shifts in a row schedule, I had to make like Tim Gunn and “make it work.” Comfort foods, aplenty. Review: not too shabby in a… Read more >

The first law of thermodynamics states that heat is a form of energy, which can be transferred, but never created nor destroyed. The second law of thermodynamics states that the entropy of the universe always increases. The third law of thermodynamics implies that it is impossible to cool a system all the way to exactly absolute zero. Sure, it may seem weird to start a post with a science lesson, but like most other things in life, it can also be applied to food… 1. Heat is a form of energy?! Hell yeah it is!… Read more >

Ugh, my hair is NOT cool with this weather. NOT cool man, NOT cool. Today’s food photos are nowhere to be found…I’m not sure where they vanished off to, but the culprit is either my camera or computer (and based on my recent technology-challenged history, it’s the computer). It’s a shame, too, because I went to Whole Foods on the way home from work (killed the weekly monthly budget), and there were some major food porn pictures from the hot bar. I guess my computer was jealous of the deliciousness going on, and wanted to eat… Read more >
