Is it just me, or does my coffee froth look like a person running? I could be going crazy. It’s entirely possible. It’s actually the more likely scenario. Still, I couldn’t help but feel like my morning coffee was sending me subliminal messages. I ignored them and went for a bike ride instead. It was AWESOME. Before hitting the road, I had a bowl of oats with a chopped apple. Don’t be deceived by the above photo, though. This batch of oats was anything but average. I bulked up the 1/2 cup rolled oats with… Read more >

Kyle is too lazy to type up a guest post. But ask beg and you shall receive… Here’s a recap of his evening in the kitchen, hippie-style. So without further ado… Candle Cafe’s Seitan Skewers with Chimichurri Citrus-Herb Sauce I found two recipes online and combined them for the marinade with the following proportions: 1 cup fresh orange juice 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (thank you bumper crop!) 1/4 cup fresh lime juice ½ cup olive oil 1 garlic clove, minced 2 ½ tbsp vegan sugar 3/4 cup chopped parsley 1 cup chopped cilantro 1… Read more >

Happy holidays everyone! It’s Christmas up in here 🙂 I’m working on the 25th, so Santa was nice and obliging and came early this year (this post is from the 21st). To celebrate as a family, we all went to dinner in the city. In spite of the gross weather, we headed into San Francisco early to browse the Ferry Building, check out the tree (in Union Square) and grab some drinks at the famous Harry Denton’s Starlight Room. Views of the Ferry Building… Making our way to Union Square… SF love After soaking… Read more >

We took some photos in the sunshine…and then the clock struck one and it was time to go. Waiting for the event to start reminded me of being in a corral before a running race. … Read more >

Evan’s vegan fudge is no joke. I can’t put it into words. I mean, look at that! Still not sure why he’s a “wannabe” chef. As far as I’m concerned, this dessert is about as close to heaven as it gets. For Evan’s recipe, click here. I altered mine because I didn’t have some of the ingreds on hand, so I made the following changes. Ingredients: 1 cup vegan chocolate chips 2 tbsp. cocoa powder 1/2 cup coconut oil vegan butter substitute the Earth Balance was empty when I opened it 1/8 cup almond milk… Read more >
