Too sick to stop

I am very glad to have uploaded all those old photos from my phone earlier this month because it meant I was able to share some flashback posts…but if you were curious about what you’ve been missing food-wise while I’ve been posting old content, you may as well forget about it. Germs took our house by storm and we had one of those weeks. If you have kids, you know what I’m talking about. It was r o u g h. Naturally Kyle was out of town for the entire week (isn’t that always how… Read more >

Let me see your tootsie roll

Every time our CSA gives us collards I make them into wraps. I love them. But when it comes to spring roll wrappers I’m not the best. My friends made fun of me for stuffing it too full like a burrito when we went out once last summer. FYI, Quan nem ninh hoa is a total hole in the wall gem that my friend told us about. It’s so far out in Sac that it may as well be another city, but it’s cheap and delicious Vietnamese food, so what else do you need to… Read more >

1 2 3 dates a lady

The best kept secret in childcare is about to be burst wide open. At least for Davis peeps. My kids’ ABSOLUTE FAVORITE activity is Awana. Yes, they like sports too. It’s basically vacation bible camp once a week. Oh and did I mention it’s drop off? Which means, Kyle and I have a built in weekly… Read more >

Birthday in the city

Here is another part of my unintended flashback series, in which I share random moments that I just uploaded from my phone’s photo album. Kyle planned a surprise weekend for me, but because he knows that I hate surprises (translation: I like control), he shared the plan with me a few days before it all went down to make sure I wasn’t totally flipping out the entire time. He knows me so well. And we both had a fantastic time. Here are some highlights… We arrived around lunch time and went straight to the Ferry… Read more >

Kiddo bento box lunches

Prep for this week includes: hard boiling eggs, cooking pasta, cooking beans, roasting chickpeas, and chopping veggies Please note: This may look slightly repetitive and/or not terrible exciting but my whole goal in sharing these menus is to prove that it doesn’t have to be instagram picture perfect to be good enough. Don’t overcomplicate your life unnecessarily! Because I still had items leftover from the previous week I put them in this week’s menu. That being said, they are still on the grocery list I made out just in case you don’t have them. And… Read more >
