Disneyland for the veg lovers

People don’t go to Disneyland for the food.  Period. The fact that things cost six times what they should isn’t even the worst part (and I’m no stranger to paying $20 for a salad – Whole Foods hot bar?).  Nothing screams gourmet like a Pluto Dog (how sad, by the way, for kids to associate their meal’s “meat” with a beloved character).  But, like I said, that’s not why people go to the “Happiest Place on Earth.”  Expect the worse, and you’ll never be disappointed right? So, in the interest of being prepared, I did… Read more >

Peek-a-boo

I’m here!  I’m alive!  I swear.  I’ve just been busy with too many fun things to remember to blog. Like a Disneyland trip for my mom’s birthday. And my wedding shower! 🙂 Momz, me, and my Auntie Wendy   …and a vegan cake, of course (thanks to my cousin’s baking brilliance).  I’ll be back with the deets about my shower (or at least the food part) and how to do a vegan(ish) day at Disneyland.

The happs

To even try and show all my food over the past few days would be impossible.  I’ve just been livin’ it up.  So happy!  Friday I woke up at 5 for work, but my stomach was realllly unsettled.  I quickly threw oats, cinnamon, NuNaturals stevia, raisins, and carob chips in a baggy to take to work.  I rarely eat so early in the morning (even on work days), but for some reason, my stomach’s turmoil was leading me to believe food may be the answer.  I still got my usual soymilk-ified Starbucks, obvi. The night… Read more >

Raw Livin’

As I mentioned before, Saturday was a late night, so Sunday didn’t really get under way until noon. Before anything, we went to WF for (our last) huge grocery trip.  On the way home, I got a soy misto. Even though we were still waiting for our groceries to arrive, I still had everything on hand for a perfect lunch. The other day I got a delivery from Livin’ Spoonful in the mail, with tons of raw, vegan, sprouted goodies.  I can’t even tell you how long I had been waiting to try these… I… Read more >

Flashback Friday: The Engagement

Guess what blog trend made it’s way to hippie-ville?  The flashback series!  Ok, not really series, since this is the first (and only) installment.  It just so happens that last year, on March 28th, my best friend asked me to marry him.  Happiness.  Shock.  Pure.  Elated.  Love.  Crissy Field, San Francisco. It was a gorgeous day in the Bay, and Kyle and I were headed to lunch…or so I thought… I’m pretty dense, so Kyle’s secrecy was probably all in vain, but still, he did a great job planning the best surprise of my life. … Read more >
