Un biere froid, s’il vous plait

So me and Paris got off to a great start (hooray for fresh baguettes!). Dinner was less successful. This, my friends, is a falafel gyro.  With cheese.  And fries.  Uhhhh…merci, but no? On the plus side (not the French meaning of the word, because we found out today “plus” means “more” in French as per our phrase book), I did discover I like Greek beer. Roland Garros here we come!

Despite being late comers to the sport, my sister and I both developed quite a fondness for tennis.  She’s closer to the “obsessed” end of the spectrum, whereas I’d consider myself in the more healthy range of simple enjoyment.  Either way, it was a mere two years ago that we she visited in NYC for the US Open.  And now we are heading off to Paris tomorrow for the French Open. To the madres

I’m back home in the Bay Area after yesterday’s Napa wedding.  What a gorgeous and fun time! It was like a college reunion (slash fraternity/sorority event).  The only difference is that everyone is married or engaged now.  It was kinda silly actually – there were 10 engaged couples at the wedding!  Can you believe it?  Wedding season much?  Of the 250 guests, 50 of us were from UCLA (99% of which were in the same frat and same sorority as the bride and groom).  It was cute.   Congrats guys! Intuition

You may have noticed that I took some time off from blogging this week.  Many people turn to rules and the likes to get back on track, but I prefer the opposite.  Personally, I equate rules with restrictions, and I’m not ok with that.  If that works for you, great.  For me, it’s just unhealthy.  Instead, I go the opposite route, listening (and I mean, really paying attention) to my body for guidance.  I think that being an intuitive eater is extra difficult if you have a food blog because it just increases the amount… Read more >
