Cocoa loco

For some reason, I was in the snack food aisle of WFs last week (I usually stick to the perimeter of the store) and my browsing led to this purchase…   Vegan, gluten free, chocolate…no wonder they caught my eye. I’ve tried a few Enjoy Life products before – mostly granola and cereals (back when I was in nursing school and still hated nuts).  Being an allergy conscious company, I appreciated the no nut guarantee they offered.  The ingredients list is a bit long, but they are all recognizable to me.  The date paste and… Read more >

Mrs. Housewife

Since I have been feeling too ill to work out, I’ve focused my energy elsewhere.  And I have so many recipes coming your way as a result! The perfect home-made veggie burger. Tofu Thai fry. Blueberry pancakes. Kale and seitan salad. Peanut butter and banana oatmeal blondies. Get excited!

Sweet and spicy salad

Ally McBeal I never watched this show when it was on in the 90’s but I am loving it right now.  I had the urge to start watching it after reading Portia De Rossi’s book (whoa intense btw).  Fortunately Netflix has the show on demand.  Being sick (read:… Read more >

Kiwi cure

I browse the health section of the Huffington Post online almost every day.  It’s one of my favorite online sources because they have an assortment of lighter stories mixed in with more controversial opinions pieces.  Today I read about a study in which IBS sufferers who ate two kiwis a day for 4 weeks found they had significant relief in irritable bowel related symptoms (most notably constipation).  Interesting. How cool would it be if the solution to all my GI woes were as simple as enjoying a couple of kiwis on a daily basis? Needless… Read more >
