Easter weekend and then some

I owe kiddo pics I think.  They’re more fun to show off than food anyway.  🙂  Plus I have more photos than just our weekly dinners to share so just indulge me okay? My baby girl is so alert these days with her big gorgeous eyes staring at me (and the world).  I love it.  And P is getting used to the change too so our family dynamic is solid.  He asks to pet her all day long and I love it. In order to keep my little dude entertained on our morning walks I made… Read more >

The weekly menu

Yikes I’m behind!  Catching up… Once again I find myself FLOORED with the kindness and generosity of our family/friends/neighbors.  I just can’t get over it.  The transition to being home with two kids has definitely been difficult but the fact that we have something as important as delicious home-cooked food taken care of means SO MUCH LESS stress for me.  Obviously we all know eating good food is high on my list of priorities (I have this blog for a reason!) so for such a massive thing to be essentially taken care of for me in these… Read more >

Brianna’s salad

I’ve decided I have a new goal for spring and summer and that is to find a way to make something with every one of Brianna’s salad dressings.  Nope, this is not sponsored or anything.  I’m just obsessed with the poppyseed one so why not try the rest!?  They are probably just as awesome.  The honey mustard and lemon tarragon in particular sound so freakin’ good! Peach Poppyseed Chicken Salad Ingredients: 16 oz baby greens (spring mix or spinach are perfect) 2-3 peaches, diced (I had really small ones so I used 4, but 2 normal… Read more >

Lactation cookies

This recipe may only apply to 1% of my readers (if that) but if I’m being honest, the fact that these ingredients are supposed to assist in milk production doesn’t totally matter because they taste awesome.  I mean, they are cookies.  So, duh.  And they have wholesome ingredients like coconut oil and oats so they aren’t going to make you feel gross after you binge on the whole batch. As hippie as I am, I didn’t even know about lactation cookies until I was well on my way nursing P and I never had any issues… Read more >

The weekly menu

This one will be a bit different because we were in the hospital for part of the week.  And then we got home and were treated to a couple of meals (take out from my mom and home-made from my girlfriend). A word about those people before I continue with the food stuff…oh my GOSH our support system!  I can’t even begin to put into words how blessed Kyle and I feel to have such incredible family and friends supporting us in so so many ways.  It’s been a phenomenal, invaluable, and just plain mind blowing gift.  I have… Read more >
