Week one review

Well. Well well well. What to say. These few days have been…interesting…let’s just focus on the things that went right. I baked individual cakes for each kid and then we let them each have a “special night” with us, in which they stayed up later (after the other one was in bed) and had cake and hung out with me and Kyle. Neither knew the other did it. They both think it was a unique experience that they got on the sly. And it was so cute and awesome for all of us. Since we… Read more >

A decade

Kyle and I have now been married a decade! How amazing is that!? In truth, it doesn’t seem like that long, but then again, we have done a lot in those ten years! There is also something about life being 100% out… Read more >

Instant enchilada casserole

I have been promising Kyle enchiladas for so long now and I finally made good on my promise! Last summer our CSA was throwing peppers and tomatoes and tomatillos at me faster than I could even manage to process. I was so overwhelmed and had no clue what to do with them. We aren’t big fans of heat in this house so it’s a bit nerve wracking to get bags (and bags and then more bags) of unidentified peppers of all shapes and colors and sizes. I ended up deciding to make enchilada sauce with… Read more >

The weekly menu

Is there anything better than the pristinely smooth top of a new jar of nut butter?? 2020 may have a low bar, but the answer is still no any time you ask me. I’ve been meaning to show you this new jar I opened last week. It’s been on my shelf for a while, but I don’t like having 10 nut butter jars open at once, so I was happy to finally give it a try. It’s wonderful! I rarely get the no stir kinds of nut butter, so it was a welcome change not… Read more >
