My mom’s birthday weekend

This weekend was a blast, and it’s not just because I was at my parents’ house with tons of support, but also because my dad threw my mom a big party for her 60th birthday and I got to see so many family members who I haven’t seen in way too long. It was so awesome.  Have I mentioned how much I love my family? Despite having so many hands on deck to help with the littles, I felt (feel) like a zombie for far too much of the day, but I think that has a… Read more >

Toddler meal updates

I haven’t shared much in the kiddo food department in a while and that’s mostly because not much has changed. He prefers mainly carbs to start the day, which is odd since he used to LIVE and DIE for eggs.  Now he’s over the eggs.  Whatever.  He alternates between home-made quick breads, waffles, pancakes, donuts, and oatmeal.  All with a bunch of fruit (usually blueberries or grapes).  And bear in mind this is after his pre-breakfast snack of apple slices.  And then typically sunflower and pumpkin seeds until he’s full. GF pancakes with coconut flour, GF all… Read more >

Journal May 25

May 25, 2015 May 28th is my mom’s birthday and I am pretty excited to go to celebrate with her.  She’s turning 60 and that’s a big one.  It seems like after 30 you only celebrate the round decades so waiting a whole ten years for the next “big” birthday is an awfully long time to wait… My parents were just in Europe for a long trip.  Just the two of them.  They had a blast and it makes me happy to see them so happy.  I have good role models – for parenting and… Read more >
