Sugar-free grain-free banana pumpkin bread [GIVEAWAY]

Now that P has outgrown his almond allergy I am thrilled to be baking gluten free (AND grain free) goodies for us all to share.  In terms of GF quick breads, I’m more into almond flour as a base than coconut or rice flours or various starches. They are more mmmmoisture packed.  Dodged the M word there. Here’s a great recipe that helps use up the last bits of pumpkin from the can that you used almost all of. Sugar free and grain free banana pumpkin bread [soy free, dairy free, peanut free, gluten free] Ingredients: 2 large ripe… Read more >

The weekly menu

Just barely a second has passed since I shared the last couple of weeks’ meals, and already I got this post up!  It’s like all of October’s dinners coming at you in 48 hours. Saturday’s dinner was ammmmmmmazing. I loooooove squash season.  I know that’s what everyone says in the early stages of Fall but I guess I’m just as basic as everyone else.  I’ve said it (around this same time) every year: I LOVE FALL.  I love October.  I love pink breast cancer month.  I love Halloween.  I love pumpkin.  I love all squash.  I love… Read more >

The weekly menu

More like menussssssssss.  Get ready for a lot lot lot of dinner ideas.  This post is especially good for quick meal ideas.  There are lots of things thrown together from freezer and pantry staples so hopefully it will be useful to busy peeps wanting (budget and allergy friendly) home-made dinners that don’t take much time to prepare. Dos fines de semana

I have two three (!) weeks of menus to catch up on so I’ll be short and concise with the details here, but I love our weekends and wanted to share the photos of the past couple.  We have finally been at home!  It feels so luxurious to not travel and have the downtime to do errands and hang out around town.  Sundays are sacred football days so we try to plan very little for those days – thereby leaving Saturdays for swimming lessons, farmer’s market, grocery shopping, vacuuming, park play dates and everything else.  Sometimes “nothing”… Read more >

Trying to do too much

In true Elise form, I’ve taken on wayyyyy too much and my perfectionist overachieving ways have made my life more miserable than had I just settled accepted where my limits are.  The simplest (and least important) example is the 4 drafts I have partially written in my blog’s dashboard.  I also have a baking/cooking to do list that’s obscenely unnecessary, for which I’ve purchased all the ingredients.  So now, as long as they sit there taunting me, I will feel like a failure until I deal with them.  “Deal with them” being the key part of that… Read more >
