The weekly menu

Running through this past week’s dinners fast because I have a fun weekend post to share… This is out of order, but I am too lazy to copy and paste the photos correctly.  HA!  So above is Wednesday’s meal.  My dad came to play but I wasn’t sure if he’d be joining us for dinner.  Once he determined he was staying, he called on the way over and offered to pick up extra chicken thighs.  Then I just made extra peas and rice and sauce.  Boom. I didn’t measure the ingredients I put into the sweet dijon… Read more >

Tea Leaf Granola

I first got the idea to do this from Caitlin’s blog, but she used peppermint tea which is totally not my thing.  But I made a mental note to revisit the idea when my current granola stash ran out.  And serendipitously enough, the very next day I received an email from Andy, the founder of Plum Deluxe tea.  They make organic fair trade loose leaf teas with interesting combinations and blends.  You all know, I’m a tea lover, so obviously I was totally on board to try them out and share my thoughts with you guys. This week’s meal plan was so uninspired I almost didn’t share it.  I’ve been so lazy with grocery shopping I set myself up for disaster because I only had a few set meals and the rest I just factored in as “wing it” days.  Which is fine when you have a full freezer (which we do) but it’s not very exciting. My (new) favorite kale salad

This is a silly post because I eat kale salads for lunch basically every single day.  And they are usually the same. Kale and cabbage massaged with some dressing, plus avocado, dried cranberries, and seeds (either pepitas or sunflower). As such, I don’t take pics of them anymore.  It’s repetitive.  Delicious, but repetitive. But lately, I’ve been mixing things up. One day I did this spinach, chickpea, edamame, quinoa thing with a miso dressing. And then another day I went and paired my kale with broccoli slaw, kabocha squash, dried cranberries and avocado.  Then I added goat’s… Read more >

The weekly menu

You see this? This is the look of an empty grocery cart.  My mom came on Thursday to give me an extra hand and after P was down for a nap I left her with a full and happy V and went off to TJs on a solo trip.  The luxury!!  It was so fast!  Just getting in and out of the car alone was like moving at warp speed.  Amazing. But before that shopping trip I had minimal groceries in the house with which to work (since we had just returned from LA at… Read more >
