Drinking the dregs

No matter how much I shake the almond or soy milk, the last cup of the carton is always SO MUCH BETTER than the rest.  I love the thick sediment that’s left at the end.  If only there were a way to make it all like that!?  Anyone else a fan of the nondairy milk dregs?   In case you weren’t aware, I’m a vanilla whore.  I usually buy the unsweetened or plain soymilk/almond milk and just add that and NuNaturals vanilla stevia to my coffee.  Lately, though, I’ve been in a mayj vanilla phase,… Read more >

A simple Sunday

Nothing too interesting going on in this casa.  Simple weekend fun. I woke up at 8 feeling much better than yesterday (thanks for all the well wishes).  It’s funny how every time I mention I’m not feeling well the first question people ask is “are you pregnant?”  In fact, anytime anything remotely baby related comes up in conversation people think it’s appropriate to ask when I’m planning to have kids.  I can’t even say “awww” to a cute little toddler without people assuming it means I’m getting ready for mommy mode.  I don’t really mind… Read more >

Flaky

I didn’t mean to hold out on you after that giveaway teaser in my last post.  No worries, though, I’m not flaky when it comes to hooking up my readers.  Or am I? Har. Har.  I couldn’t resist the pun, sorry.  [I almost deleted it, it’s so bad] How much do I love coconut?  Let me count the ways… (1) flakes, (2) shreds, (3) chips, (4) butter, (5) oil, and that’s just the beginning… They enhance the simplest dishes…cereal, granola, oats, cakes, cookies, bars, pancakes…you get the idea. Clearly, the common denominator (yeah, math vocab!)… Read more >

Back in the states

My flight(s) home were a disaster, but I’m here now! 🙂  I’ve actually been back for a couple of days, but I’m still trying to readjust to the time change. I was sad to leave vacation mode, but if I’m being perfectly honest, I was very ready to return home. I plan on doing more detailed posts (most likely in flashback fashion) about my trip and being vegan while traveling through Spain and France, but for now, I’m going to soak up everything I missed while I was away. Shockingly (or not shockingly, depending on… Read more >
