A weak end

A few quick things: 1)  I’m glad you enjoyed the wedding recap.  The final installment is under way and should be ready soon. 2)  My weekend was a disaster scene.  It started with Friday night and ended with Friday night.  I did learn an important lesson, though.  I’m not 21 years old anymore, and therefore, I’m not immune to hangovers.  3)  This post is going to be highly incomplete because certain photos make me nauseous.  For instance, the below. I love the 80’s?  Who remembers Double Dare?    I had a partner in crime of… Read more >

Back to work

On Thursday my alarm went off and I popped out of bed with a quickness.  You may be wondering why I was so anxious about starting the day… It certainly had nothing to do with the excessively layered outfit I had laid out to wear (of course it’s suddenly 80+ degrees at sunrise the day I have to wear professional attire).  It also had nothing to do with the 25 minute bus ride next to Mister I’m-going-to-broadcast-my-cell-phone-conversation-to-the-world.  As I previously mentioned and then shared via twitter, I was in fact at a follow up job… Read more >

Overnight success

Such a productive day!  First and foremost, I set up a job interview (hooray!), so…yeah.  There’s that.  But in addition to my latest career progress, I tackled more things on my to-do list and ate some amazing meals. The night before bed I threw together a tupperware full of overnight oats.  I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I do like my oats raw.  When I was young I ate Quaker’s packets with milk like cold cereal.  I guess today’s overnight oats are just the more nutritious version… I wonder how long 2 1/2 pounds… Read more >

Eggless is Best

Sorry Chicken Little, I’m sure you have a fine product, but I have a egg salad alternative that will make even non-vegans dig in.  Talk about a timely post.  With the recall fresh on people’s minds, I’m fairly certain eggs aren’t flying off the grocery shelves quite like they used to… This recipe was the result of half a box of unclaimed silken tofu.  Unclaimed?  As if Kyle would be fighting me for tofu!?!?  Ha!  Ok, so I had leftovers from an undocumented carob tofu pudding dessert (when late night munchies strike all bets are… Read more >

Soy Goddess

Last month I fell in love with kelp noodles and I swore that day that I would soon recreate the dish that sparked this love. Remember this gorgeous meal?  Thank you Chaco Canyon for blowing my mind with the ginger sesame bowl and introducing me to kelp noodles. I wasted no time trying to track down these elusive noodles.  Whole Foods hooked it up. Sea Tangle makes kelp noodles that I found near the seafood counter in the weird ocean products section at Whole Foods. As you can can’t really see, they are stored in… Read more >
