Sunday snacks and moving answers

A few people have been asking about my moving plans/details…or lack thereof… So here’s the deal:  Cross-country moving is not exactly a piece of cake. And yet, this fact (that would ordinarily stress the bejeezus out of me) doesn’t even phase me because of where I am moving to.  HOME!!  I feel so at peace now that I know we are definitely getting back to the West Coast. Our days in NYC are numbered, but at the same time, there is still some flexibility in regards to how and when everything goes down (especially at… Read more >

Bread winner

This weekend Kyle’s at UCLA for an orientation of sorts, and I’m working it up.  (Yes, I do still have a job, but only for a few more weeks!)  Hey, someone has to bring home the dough, right?  I packed my goodies, as per usual. Salad.  Bars.  Teas.  Carrots.  Pretz/Raisins/Carob chips.  Hummus.  Apple.  (I actually had two other apples that I bought at the Union Square farmers market on my lunch break, too) The size of the salad looks dwarfed by the photo on the right, but trust, it was large and in charge.  It… Read more >

Full day

Full of errands, full of food, full of activity, full of sun, full of living.  How else would I start the day?  Alongside the apple was a new green monster blend.  I double fisted it with the spinach, which is why it turned out such a pretty color.  The other ingreds included a whole frozen banana, 1/4 block silken tofu, ice, ice and more ice. It looked neon in person, but isn’t quite as bright in the photo.  Ah well, just take my word for it – ‘twas muy verde.  After getting errands done around… Read more >

More freckles and Vitamin D

There won’t be many pictures in this post because I was in the sun ALL. DAY. LONG.  I can’t get over it.  I took 4,601,546 pictures of cherry blossoms and dogwoods today.  Literally.  My computer nearly exploded with all the megabytes I tried to upload from my camera.  Did I just use a techie term?  Why yes I did.  There’s hope yet.  Anyways, here’s how I started the day – whole wheat sando thin with Justin’s maple almond butter and banana slices (along with unpictured javahhhh). I had a bushel of apples while taking the city… Read more >

Winner and dinner

After the long (but relatively smooth) work weekend, all I wanted to do was sleep in ‘til noon. Unfortunately, I had (have) a to-do list the size of China, so that was out of the question. I felt like a full time secretary with the amount of time I was on the phone and doing paperwork.  Ick.  Those things should be illegal on days off.  Hey Barack, can we get a bill passed on that? Since I was buried in boring, my brain kinda stalled out on me, and so I had what is probably… Read more >
