Here’s the festive Christmas scene at La Boulange in Lafayette. They have several stores, actually, all across the Bay Area – including several in SF and Marin. As I mentioned in a previous post, the place reminds me of LPQ. They both give off the casual European bakery vibe, while making your tongue wag at the display case of delicious pastries. Oh, and if you want a bowl of coffee the size of your face, La Boulange is where’s it’s at!! I will definitely be going back once I’m back on the java… Read more >

My birthday week started last weekend with apple picking. After that we headed to lunch at Mendocino Farms. As much as I love the place, it’s not conveniently located for me. But since we had already been in the car for well over an hour, we figured what’s an extra few miles out of the way? Kyle got the Modern Tuna Melt which has “all white Albacore tuna with fresh herbs, farm house cheddar, vegenaise, housemade pickles, red onions, tomatoes, Scarborough Farm’s greens on panini grilled buckwheat.” He nixed the pickles, obviously, and deemed it… Read more >

As you can see, I like my iced tea reallly almond milky. How I make it is recipe-free, but I brew pitchers of tea at a time (no sweetener) using 4 tea bags for my 2 liter pitcher. I add boiling water to it, let it steep for a while then put it in the fridge to cool (but continue to steep) overnight. In the morning I remove the teabags. Then, each day I pour some over 3-4 ice cubes, and then add maple syrup and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Sometimes I can get the… Read more >

As I previously mentioned, Kyle and I were in Nor Cal (Elk Grove) for a family reunion this past weekend. It was for Kyle’s mom’s side of the family…and over 50 people (!!!) made the trek. Part of the reason I had been waiting to share my pregnancy on the blog was because we wanted to tell people in person at this reunion…and you know how once things leak online they make their way to facebook two seconds later and then the whole world knows (not that that’s a bad thing, we just wanted to… Read more >

This cd is so much FUN. Pun intended. Iced tea. Can’tstopwon’tstop. After buying a big boy at le bux, I opted to brew my own at home. And I can’t tell you how awesome it is to start my summer mornings with a nice cool drink. Plus almond milk and maple syrup. Heavenly. Home-made bread. I eat these loaves faster than hummus. And that’s saying something. This sauce. With anything and everything. Baked potatoes. Eggs. Hash browns. Toast. Quinoa. Pizza. A spoon. You name it, I’ve tried it with this… Read more >
