I’ve been aggressively snacking between meals and all the nibbles are going undocumented. This bothers me because I want to have a better handle on my eats. I get frustrated because I don’t always have time to eat well so (excuses excuses) I just grab the easiest and fastest thing and shove it down my gullet between diaper changes, laundry, and all that jazz (the joys of motherhood I guess). But I want to be accountable for what I’m putting in my body. I used to take photos of everything I ate and that not… Read more >

I think people come here for photos of P more than recipes now. I don’t blame you! I think he’s the most adorable little guy, too. But I still feel inclined to post about food because that’s why I started HHH in the first place. In any event, here’s a good one to hold you all over. 🙂 Lately his smiles are less random and more often the result of us making faces and interacting with him and it makes my heart melt. I can only imagine how amazing things are going to get from… Read more >

Like I mentioned forever ago, I made this for dinner, lunch, and then dinner again because it was so good. It’s inspired by Native Foods’ sesame kale macro bowl, which I’ve gotten countless times before. Chef Tanya’s version has steamed kale, brown rice, creamy ginger sesame sauce, tangy sauerkraut, gomasio and toasted sesame seeds. I really don’t like this new UC logo. I’m saving the Daily Bruin crossword for Friday because our baby dresser/changing table is going to be delivered sometime between 12 and 4 pm. That’s a lot of waiting around time that I need to fill. But I am SO excited about this dresser (nursery photos to come). Oh, and in case you couldn’t guess, that breakfast was GF toast with Earth Balance and two perfectly fried eggs. There’s nothing (ok, very little) that makes me happier than a fully stocked fruit situation. I’m on… Read more >

This weekend was just plain awesome. I don’t know what else to say. My sister came to visit. My friends threw me a baby shower. And I just felt so loved. And fortunate. Things are good. Thursday night was tree decorating and burrito bar. On Friday, my sister arrived! Hooray 🙂 While she was doing the oh-so-hideous I-5 drive, I woke up early, made breakfast (the standard egg and GF bread with Earth Balance), and read. I had a snack a little later. Rice cakes with nut butter & dried fruit is becoming… Read more >
