This weekend went by way too quickly. I played catch up the whole time, and it’s already over! :( All I do is make massive bulk meals for the week. Prep prep prep. In any event, the recap need not be dragged out. Here are the bare essentials…including how I plan ahead for a week’s worth of work eats. Brunch Coffee sprinkled with cocoa Sando with hummus and vegan “cheese” on Ezekiel heel pieces. Snack Assorted platter of veggies, fruit, and “cheese” Workout 30 minutes of running on the beach 15 minutes of leisurely bike… Read more >

Phew! Just finished a string of shifts at the hospital and I’m ready to start my weekend. So this Friday will be a day of catch up – I’m mega behind in all parts of life, including blogging. Last time I checked, blogging about Sunday’s meal on Thursday is…what’s the word?…ah yes, a lost cause. The Foodbuzz festival was no ordinary situation, though. Up to this point in the weekend, the food at the festival had been good. Just good. Not great. Nothing had wowed me. In other words, I was still waiting to go gaga over something. In spite of this, I strutted into the Ferry Building with my chin up high. Brush that dirt off yo shoulder. Having seen the menu beforehand, my expectations weren’t high. In fact, I was a bit nervous about how vegan-izable the meals would be. Especially given the minimal veg-friendly options available at the previous Foodbuzz events. From left to right… Read more >

On my days off, I like to sleep in. The first thing I do upon waking up is wash my face and brush my teeth. But less than a second after, I make coffee. After that I water my babies. Then, I set up shop on our dining room chairs and read blogs, write, and do whatever internet related errands I’ve put off for the past few days. All while enjoying coffee. Coffee topped with froth and cocoa, to be exact. At least, that’s what I did on Friday. I also had the last piece… Read more >

The building blocks for a delicious work lunch… Avocado and tofu. Since I make my work lunches the night before, I am usually in a rush to get to bed. Thus, tofu prep tends to be on the minimalist side. I like plain ‘fu so I don’t really care much. All I did was cut some of the block into cubes, spritz it with Bragg’s and microwave it in a glass bowl with a CoverMate cover. After 45 seconds, I flipped them around a bit, and popped them back in for another 45 seconds. It’s… Read more >
