This was my vision for dinner last night. Turned out pretty much exactly how I pictured it! Bonus: it was way tastier than I could have ever hoped for! The butternut squash puree is outstanding enough to stand on it’s own…add in pasta, sautéed vegan sausage, and steamed kale…oh baby! It’s definitely worth repeating. The reason we kept the meal’s components separate was because I wanted kale and Kyle didn’t. He was kale-d out from the previous night’s dinner (I, on the other hand, could eat leafy greens exclusively for weeks on end…). So… Read more >

I actually didn’t take too many pictures at the tasting pavilion because I was busy, well, tasting! Here are the ones I do have, supplemented with ones borrowed from my roommates Danica, Holly, Susan, and Janetha. Before heading into the tasting, Kyle and my sister joined up with me (I’m not the only foodie in my family). :) So stripe-y. We took some photos in the sunshine…and then the clock struck one and it was time to go. Waiting for the event to start reminded me of being in a corral before a running race. … Read more >

The elevators are split so they don’t all go to every floor. I had to go to the 19th floor, then the 5th, then the 19th, and then the 5th again. Because I have nothing better to do right now…like, oh, I don’t know, packing maybe? The lobby guard thought I was out of my mind as I went back and forth between one set of elevators and the… Read more >

Seriously, I hope I’m not boring you all, but this trip home was so epic, that even the Cliff’s notes version is miles long… I guess I will continue from where I left off (Saturday PM). Since the Nike half marathon started at 7 am (and I had no desire to commute into the city before that ungodly hour) I stayed at my sister’s apartment the night before. At least something positive came out of last month’s half marathon pre-race disaster (i.e. 4 am wake up calls are NOT conducive to a happy hippie). Spooning… Read more >

Today’s highlights include: wearing my sweatpants all day, having 3 cups of coffee, and football (lots of football). The rest is just details. All the way to the last drop. Not very much foam today, I guess? Still the same magic formula of skim plus and ff vanilla “creamer.”I went to the gym to watch the Giants game. This year, having 2 fantasy football teams is really confusing. I can never remember who is on which team, and when to cheer and when to boo. Sometimes I go an entire game thinking one player is on… Read more >
