Husband and wife (part 3)

I never expected the wedding to get a mini-series on my blog, but the photos were too good not to share with you guys (I’m so modest) and your feedback has been so positive.  Anyways, this post is the last, I swear!  Plus, it’s all the fun stuff – the food, the drank, the cake, and the dancing! Here are the links for part 1 and part 2 if you missed them. After we were announced as Mr. & Mrs., the entire wedding party spontaneously huddled… Rally time! I’m sure the rest of the guests… Read more >

Overnight success

Such a productive day!  First and foremost, I set up a job interview (hooray!), so…yeah.  There’s that.  But in addition to my latest career progress, I tackled more things on my to-do list and ate some amazing meals. Soy Goddess

Last month I fell in love with kelp noodles and I swore that day that I would soon recreate the dish that sparked this love. Remember this gorgeous meal?  Thank you Chaco Canyon for blowing my mind with the ginger sesame bowl and introducing me to kelp noodles. Showered with love

The other weekend I soaked up my last moments of bride-to-be glory.  My oldest and dearest friends gathered in my hometown to celebrate my upcoming nuptials. Mimosas :)  I couldn’t have felt more loved, surrounded by my friends and family.  Eat, drink, and be merry.  Check, check, and check! How amazing are those centerpieces?  They were made by one of the shower hostesses in OXO containers from my registry.  So cute and clever!! Lunch was a feast with vegan options aplenty. The spinach orzo salad was so tasty I asked for the recipe.  It’s a… Read more >

Va De Vi

It’s about the wine. That’s the Catalan translation of this restaurant’s name, and indeed it was.  Kyle and I had no real occasion to go out to dinner, but we just felt like splurging for a fun date night.  Va De Vi is a gem of a restaurant in Walnut Creek’s downtown area.  The ambiance is casual but chic, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff, a menu that changes with the seasons, and a wine list to die for.  Every direction you turned had more wine displayed.  And being all about the wine, the menu… Read more >
