Soooo, I’m on a roll with the creamy vitamix recipes. Cashews > Dairy Guess who’s not a big a fan of the vitamix? Poor little guy gets freaked when the motor starts going. 🙁 He’s fine when I hold him next to the blender, but unless he’s in his mommy’s protective hold, he cries at the scary noise. Anyway, let’s get to the recipe because it was rich and thick and made Kyle do his omg-I-love-this-so-much-I’m-going-to-do-dirty-things-to-my-spoon face. I definitely licked the pot before cleaning it (after licking both my bowl and the ladle). The recipe… Read more >

I followed last week’s fitness and meal plan almost 100% (like 97%)! [I’m just as shocked as you are] The only thing I’m not posting a recipe for is the lentil “meatloaf” – but that’s because I’ve shared a few others already. This one was most like the mushroom version (the first link). The kale salad I made is basically this one. The chili recipe is here. And last, but NOT EVEN REMOTELY least, is the sausage & spinach stew. Okay, so this is my favorite dish at the moment. I had the leftovers for… Read more >

I exaggerated a lil bit when I said I hadn’t cooked at all last week. I did, in fact, make this dish, for which I had zero expectations. I didn’t take pics with my real camera because of such (sorry, iPhone blah). But then I was so surprised (in a good way) that I decided to share the recipe. It’s very Sandra Lee so I don’t think I deserve a parade or anything (yet). It’s another “supermom recipe” candidate. The kind you can throw together with minimal effort, in negative minutes, while simultaneously doing… Read more >

Trrrrrrrrouble. [Don’t be deceived by this photo, he’s not crawling. At. All. He rolls to get everywhere. He’s surprisingly mobile for only using rolling as a means of travel. I’m sure I’ll be swallowing my words later but it would be nice if he showed some signs of crawling. Like maybe contact with the ground. On the other hand, he’s basically ready to walk since he holds himself up using the coffee table or wall as support…hmmm…tummy time to standing? Kids are confusing.] On Thursday my parents came to Davis to visit for a few… Read more >

Just a [link filled] reminder… Certain recipes are so good they are worth repeating. Often. Like quinoa granola. And egg & kale breakfast strata (in muffin form). And mushroom miso & squash stew. And daiya pizza. And vegetarian chorizo & kale rice casserole. By the way, I totally figured out what this meal reminds me of. I am reluctant to share though, since it’s (cringe) Hamburger Helper. Don’t judge, just make it. And baked potatoes with the works. [There’s more of that vegan chorizo] And mushroom stroganoff. [I added TVP this time to increase the… Read more >
