Mama’s little helper. The addition of shoes to the wardrobe has transformed him into a little boy. He’s non-stop exploring. Still not walking, but he’s perfected his cruising skills, so it’s only a matter if time (days). Green toys. And now the word tractor is a part of his vocab. Davis appropriate. Inspired by Vintage Mixer’s kale coconut & chicken salad I made this guy for lunch. I have been struuuuuggling with lunches lately. I don’t know what to eat without soy or nuts or hummus. I’ve been trying to limit meat to… Read more >

My little boy is no longer a baby. Happy first birthday patty-cakes. You are the biggest source of joy I have ever known. Obviously the boxes and wrapping were more exciting than the actual presents. We had a little party with our closest family and friends. It was pretty perfect. Pacman muffin. 🙂 I had the same breakfast 4 days this week thanks to these GF lemon streusel muffins by Udi’s. Sorry for the hyperbole, but they are SOOO good. I don’t usually go gaga for lemon things, but they actually aren’t mega… Read more >

It’s raining and I’m showing a cold smoothie. Hmmm… Sometimes you just crave them. Actually that’s not true with me. I always think they look good when others make them, but I never think to make them on my own. Whenever I’m searching for some sort of afternoon pick-me-up snack, I forget about smoothies. But lately I’ve been at a loss when it comes to allergy friendly snacks. Hence the smoothie. Without nuts, sesame, soy, and wheat I feel…constricted. I used to grab bars or trail mix when I needed something on the go;… Read more >

This week went by bleepin’ FAST. [Side note: I have to get my swearing in check now that P understands everything I’m saying!! Words are now real things with meaning. Talk about a reality check.] Last weekend was a snooze with that lame Super Bowl, although I did grab brunch at Cafe Bernardo with a former co-worker. I brought P (with his eggs and such in a tupperware) and he was the perfect gentleman – minimal puffs and banana bits made their way to the floor (although I always clean that stuff up at… Read more >

Going old school with the “what I ate” style blogging. For breakfast I went to Crepeville with a coworker. She was just getting off (a really crappy) night shift, so she vented to me and I listened. P spent the morning throwing things from the stroller to the ground. Whatever keeps you amused little man. I got the tofu scramble which comes with both hash browns and a bagel. The portions at Crepeville are massively massive (LOVE!!!) so I took home the leftovers for Kyle. Which is the bagel you see above. Seriously Crepeville… Read more >
