Blue Hill Farms

As promised, I am back with an epic restaurant review.  Since Kyle and I have a shot-gun countdown until we leave the NYCizzle, we decided it was muy imperativo that we start hitting up all the great dining spots that are on our to-taste list.  (For the record, that list is about 5 years worth of meals long, so I will be pleased if we can even make a small dent in it…) Anyways.  Up first on the list was Blue Hill.  I first heard of Blue Hill Farms back on the 5th season of… Read more >

Dessert three times a day

Cough-E & a Caramel Apple Diggin’ the froth?  Do it!  Do the Stonyfield people know that their Oikos greek yogurt is borderline sinful when combined with apples?  Caramel apples for breakfast with NO guilt whatsoever?  Uh, that gets two thumbs up.  Now that’s a dessert that Gigi can start her day with, controversy free.  Maybe.  Lunch was so boring, I almost don’t want to show it.  Boca vegan burgers open faced on Vermont soft wheat bread with Tribe roasted red pepper hummus.  You can’t go wrong when combining bread and hummus, so as basic as this… Read more >

On my laurels

This weekend I relaxed more than I have in a loooooong time.  I didn’t exercise.  I hardly cooked.  To be honest, I pretty much spent the weekend watching the Australian Open, football, and hanging out with Kyle (I did a fair amount of eating as well).  If that’s not the picturesque weekend, well, shoot me.  I have a TON of photos, but they aren’t very glamorous and don’t require much in the way of explanations…so…without further ado… JAVA the hut Bluffin’ with my muffin   How to make quinoa ghetto Afternoon delight(s) YouShake customized “Blended… Read more >

Faz

Not the Fonz…   Faz! While home, Kyle and I made more headway with the wedding planning, including research for our rehearsal dinner.  FAZ is a cute Mediterranean restaurant with amazing food, classy ambiance, open atmosphere, and YES, those are trees inside!  Anything green gets the thumbs up from this girl hippie. After we checked out the space, they treated us to dinner.  Fabulous! We started with brick oven flat bread and rosemary foccacia fresh from the oven.  It was warm, fluffy and heavenly.  Kyle dipped his in the seasoned oil & vinegar with parmesan… Read more >
