Seattle continued: Carbzilla and car rides

Our last day in Seattle was probably the best one (even though it was only a half day).  7:00 – Our alarm went off and my dream that I was in Tokyo came to an abrupt halt (I rarely remember dreams, but this morning I was dead sure I was in Japan still when my alarm went off). 7:15 – Started peddling on the hotel elliptical (and wonder why the hell level 2 feels like level 10). 7:45 – Switched from cardio to abs. 8:00 – Finished last circuit of crunches, bicycles, push-ups, plank holds,… Read more >

Welcome to WA

After our fun times in P-town I was sad to go, but I knew I had good times ahead of me.  Not necessarily the driving, per se, but the light at the end of the tunnel…Kyle’s family! Dinner in P-town

After a full day of driving (11 hours to be exact), Kyle and I arrived at our hotel in downtown Portland just after 5 pm.  He was ready to pass out, but I wasn’t going down without a fight workout and vegan meal in me first. Fumi Tofu Salad I was first introduced to this glorious dish back in my college days, when the Whole Foods opened in Westwood and… Read more >

A-lively night

You may (or may not) remember the last time I was in San Francisco when my sister and I hit up Alive the night before my half marathon.  We were both completely in love with our meals, so when she suggested we return on Thursday night, I said “yes” without thinking twice.  My sister and Kyle are both very open minded when it comes to vegan eats, but since we had others joining us for dinner, going to a vegan (mostly raw) restaurant was a bold choice.  Still, I was optimistic that they would enjoy… Read more >
