When I last left off, we were getting brewskies at the Sierra Nevada Taproom & Restaurant. There are several cool (hippie approved) things about Sierra Nevada that you should know: In their fermentation tanks, living yeasts convert the malt sugars into alcohol and CO2. The type of beer produced depends on the strain of yeast and the fermentation temperature profile. So basically, the entire area smelled like nooch. I love me some yeast 🙂 Natural bottle conditioning is one of the signature features of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. They produce more bottle-conditioned ales than any… Read more >

Wanna see how my Maui meals have been going…well, I have about 4.7% of my eats captured on film, so I’ll let you be the judge of that. We eat at restaurants more often than not, so I am in serious need of a detox. Processed foods have been in abundance, despite my best attempts to minimize them. And even with mega planning ahead of time, vegan options tend to be poor at best. One of the things I realized here is how unavoidable processed foods is. Seriously, I can’t put into words how insane all my patients were today. Thank goodness I got a venti this morning because I didn’t get to step… Read more >

Here is my lunch that I packed the night before. Same old sando, gummy snacks that I doubt I will eat (they don’t really look that good?) and an apple and raisins. On the way to work (did I mention it’s Saturday) I picked up a treat to get the day started off right (you guessed it, a steamy starbucks soy latte). Because I was so productive and efficient in the AM, I was able to jump outside for a quick break (yes, it was to grab another soy latte – guilty). I have a… Read more >
