peanut butter

Liquid love for my achy heart

Still ailing…aching from head to toe.  Brain, body, pretty much everything.  And I’m really getting sick of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  Blah.  Today I had a sneaky chef moment, though.  As my girl Holly says, “sharing is caring” so here you go:  When you’ve hit the wall with carbs and nutbutter (the horror!), but you still have zero desire to eat greens, here’s a delicious way to cheat them into your bod.  PB & Greens Smoothie 3/4 cup almond milk 1 frozen banana 2 shafts of kale, leaves only 3 tbsp smooth peanut butter… Read more >

The bigger the better

These past few days have been a bit busy for me…among other things, I’ve been prepping for my follow-up job interview (which is tomorrow – eek!).  Coffee for four.  All for me 🙂 I have been cooking, too, but as you can see, blogging has taken the back burner.  Also, I’ve been having a string of bottomless pit days.  I’m sure you’re familiar.  You know the days when you’re stomach just won’t quit.  Which is all well and good, except that it leaves me with 482 photos to post.  Ugh.  I may as well dive… Read more >

Queasy

Ok.  Honestly?  I’m feeling a bit sick…great way to start off married life, huh?  It’s not surprising that an illness should strike now, after the intense go-go-go nature of the past month I guess I had it coming.  My body must’ve caught wind that my defenses are (finally) down.  Too much travel, too little sleep, and on top of it all, my eating habits have been ridiculously (and abnormally) erratic over the past week (see above breakfast of crackers & hummus).  I guess my immune system deserves a day off…I just hope a day doesn’t… Read more >

It all evens out

Last week I had one of those days where my appetite just wouldn’t quit.  I hate those kinds of days, honestly.  They either mean my metabolism is psychotically fast (here’s hoping!) or I’m nursing a tapeworm (shudder).  Unfortunately, I didn’t handle it in a healthy or mindful way.  My stomach seemed to be growling constantly, so I took advantage of it and (ultimately) went overboard.  I wasn’t going to blog about it (because, quite frankly, the actual eats weren’t exactly newsworthy), but then I realized how I reacted the following day was worth sharing with… Read more >

I’m so paid

…But only because of my ridiculous trip to HR today, which felt more like The Amazing Race than an exit interview… The building has 19 floors.  The elevators are split so they don’t all go to every floor.  I had to go to the 19th floor, then the 5th, then the 19th, and then the 5th again.  Because I have nothing better to do right now…like, oh, I don’t know, packing maybe?  The lobby guard thought I was out of my mind as I went back and forth between one set of elevators and the… Read more >
