Now that I’ve shared the big news, I can start talking about all the last minute things we’ve been up to as our LA residency comes to a close. On our drive back down to So Cal, Kyle and I created an LA bucket list. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hit up all the restaurants we wanted to. There’s too much food in our fridge/freezer (slash we need to save $$$) to justify going out to eat the way that we both want to. Which would have to be every night for… Read more >

The days of froth have returned. The holidays are all about decadence right? My morning cups of coffee have been quite elaborate as of late. I think the cold weather brings it out. This one was less than 50% coffee. The rest was cocoa powder, stevia, coconut milk “creamer” froth, and a partridge in a pear tree candy cane. YUM-AY I also had a cup of Chai tea. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m obsessed with Chai tea lately. It probably has more to do with the way it warms me up than anything else… Read more >

I woke up bright and early and decided to play with my new camera. Here’s some shots of the backyard… I love the sun beams coming through the trees behind the creek. I got up early today (weekend early, not work early) to have a couple cups of coffee before I headed out in the rain. After getting a decent caffeine buzz going, I walked to Jess’ apartment to pick her up and we took the subway together to Union Square for a pilates class/fundraiser. It was a breast cancer event (after all, it IS nearly October) so everything had a pink theme. Clearly, I can’t pass up on anything pink, especially when it is for such a good cause, and it didn’t take much persuading to get… Read more >

Today was no different than any other work day. Nothing thrilling to report. I made my lunch the night before (see below), which consists of the same delish sando I always make and a mix of raisins and yogurt covered raisins. And, naturally, I stopped at Starbucks on the way to work to grab a soy milk latte. How lame is it that I actually look forward to days I work now simply because on work days I treat myself to soy milk lattes. Today I was pretty sure jcaho was coming to the hospital… Read more >
