Fair weather fan

Saturday started with the ordinary: coffee, blog, tv, yadda yadda. Eventually I made a brunch platter (of the not so ordinary nature). Maybe carrots and apples seem weird for breakfast the first meal of the day, but it’s what I was craving.  And if you think I had these without hummus, then you clearly don’t know me at all. I finished off the rest of the (just opened) tub with a 7 grain roll, followed by grapes.  Nothing like 8 servings of chickpea heaven to get the day started right. After a hearty mug of… Read more >

Calming carob

Wow, I’m behind in posting!  Sadly, I was busy with boring things, so my catch up posting isn’t going to be all that thrilling…or thorough.  I worked…and you know what that means…eating out of tupperware!  Unfortunately, the above eats were not representative of what I actually consumed because I was floated to the ICU (no time for snacking) and my tum was acting up (no desire for roughage).  What I really ate was the salad, pretz with hummus, and the nutty/carob-y mix (basically I skipped the carrots and apples).  There was also a fresh sourdough… Read more >

Sunday snacks and moving answers

A few people have been asking about my moving plans/details…or lack thereof… So here’s the deal:  Cross-country moving is not exactly a piece of cake. And yet, this fact (that would ordinarily stress the bejeezus out of me) doesn’t even phase me because of where I am moving to.  HOME!!  I feel so at peace now that I know we are definitely getting back to the West Coast. Our days in NYC are numbered, but at the same time, there is still some flexibility in regards to how and when everything goes down (especially at… Read more >

A big effing deal

I’m not sure what all the hype is about…I mean at least our country’s leaders understand how important and significant their work is.  By no means is this blog a political one, but I just think that after pushing and pushing and pushing for this bill, it’s somewhat of a relief to see Biden drop an F-bomb over something so major for our nation.  I mean, what seems more genuine, sign on the dotted line with a poker face or bleep your way to the podium (I’m liking the second option, but I’m also a… Read more >

Days that start with the letter “s”

Saturday was a work day.  F to the U.N.  Packed nom-noms are some of the usual suspects, as well as some new members.  Carrots, salad, apples, bars, and a baggie of goodies.  Tummy-wise, I felt a little bit better, but certainly not great.  In the non-transparent bag: almonds, carob chips, raisins, pistachios, cashews, and pretzels. This Belle Bananas Foster flavored 18 Rabbits bar was another winner.  I’m not usually a banana nut fan, but this may be the bar that changes that.  It’s oaty, with good breakability, perfect level of sweetness, and reminds me of… Read more >
