My breakfast was home-made bread (hence the poor slicing) with almond butter. I used up almost the very last bit of it, so I decided to make another batch of nut butter. This time with peanuts. Roasted peanuts to be exact. Deep down I think Kyle prefers peanut butter to almond butter. And we recently bought celery and Ritz crackers, which are two of his favorite things to pile with PB. Honey roasted peanut butter. Kissed with a touch of agave. I had to do some taste testing of the peanut butter,… Read more >

This cd is so much FUN. Pun intended. Iced tea. Can’tstopwon’tstop. After buying a big boy at le bux, I opted to brew my own at home. And I can’t tell you how awesome it is to start my summer mornings with a nice cool drink. Plus almond milk and maple syrup. Heavenly. Home-made bread. I eat these loaves faster than hummus. And that’s saying something. This sauce. With anything and everything. Baked potatoes. Eggs. Hash browns. Toast. Quinoa. Pizza. A spoon. You name it, I’ve tried it with this… Read more >

What. A. Breakfast. You’ve seen this before here. I live and die by this sauce. I had it with leftover pizza. Some dip pizza in ranch dressing…I go for creamy cashew dijon sauce. I was planning on grocery shopping in the afternoon, but the weather was too nice to ignore. You see, every once in a while, the coastal fog cooperates and I get gorgeousness on my days off. Which means, beach time! Don’t let the running shoes deceive you. This was a leisurely walk. For a July week day, the pier… Read more >

I woke up wanting oats with almond butter. Problem: no almond butter in the pantry. But I wasn’t willing to entertain any other breakfast ideas. So I set to work. Dry roasting almonds until they started to smell…toasty. I think it was ~10-25 minutes at 375 degrees. No oil. Nada. Just nuts in the pan. They took a long time to cool. Too long. I got impatient and tossed them in the food processor even though they were still warm. And then left them to process. From powdery to chunky to creamy smooth… Read more >

Last week I got a package in the mail… From YUMVELOPE! Yummy stuff in an envelope. Get it? 😛 I’ve seen these monthly subscription services popping up all over the place and I think the concept is pretty cool. Depending on where you live it could be a huge deal to have access to health food products that ordinarily you’d never find in your local grocery store. These Snackle Mouth granola nut clusters were my favorite item in the bunch. Side note: how much do you love the box design? So creepy! Ha!… Read more >
