The mouse will play

I’ve made pancakes more than oats this week.  And if you don’t understand how huge that is, you don’t know me very well. Pancakes are just awesome. On the left: almond butter and bananas On the right: peanut butter/maple syrup and bananas Kyle’s been out of town, so I have been sleeping in, making big batches of pancakes and eating them while watching TV on my computer.  So lazy. Aforementioned “big batches” last me until well after noon.  So I figure if I’ve had a few courses of pancakes, it counts as breakfast AND lunch,… Read more >

Ten Reviews

Here are some products I’ve tried lately. Some were bad, some were okay, some were good, and some were awesome. So I figured I’d share. I have no affiliation with any of these companies. These are simply my honest opinions. 1. Choc & Nut spread. This is a vegan version of Nutella. I first came upon this French company at Expo West and after one bite I was hooked. It tastes heavenly – chocolate & hazelnut in a creamy smooth buttery spread. I found it at my local Co-Op and it’s not cheap. $10 for… Read more >

A face in my food

My breakfast says smile. Toast.  Almond butter.  Cinnamon.  Agave.  Raisins. Happy face. And now a few random things… Today is the second annual LA vegan beer & food festival.  I’m working though, which means I’m insanely jealous of anyone able to attend.  Please go and enjoy some catering by M Cafe and The Veggie Grill and the Fresh Fries food truck for me… Thanks to everyone who tweeted, commented or emailed sending me love for nurses week.  It’s a really awesome feeling. I can’t imagine being a nurse AND a mom…talk about an appreciation packed week!!  HAPPY… Read more >

Coconut holes

Or macaroons.  Or dough bites.  Or balls.  Whatever.  The variety of names for these treats is endless.  They are essentially coconut and chia seeds held together by a little bit of liquid and nut butter.  So very simple.  I’m not claiming I invented them or anything – I’m sure there’s a version of these on many other blogs out there.  But here’s what went into mine. Coconut holes [vegan, gluten free, soy free, FODMAPs free – makes 9 golf ball sized holes] 1 cup + 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1/3 cup maple syrup 1 tbsp… Read more >
