This weekend Kyle and I visited my G-ma in Newport Beach, went to a friend’s baby shower in Fullerton, attended a wedding in Temecula, and stayed with Kyle’s parents in San Clemente. If you do the math, that’s over 300 miles of driving (6+ hours!!!). Check out how fun this looks. Just our luck – gas prices reached $5.50 per gallon this weekend! Isn’t that fabulous? Way too much food for four people. For no reason, a group of us went to Native Foods for dinner the other night. I’ve been to the Palm Springs, Costa Mesa, and Westwood locations, but not the Culver City one. I forced myself to try something new, which was hard since I love the scorpion burger and kale macro bowl a lot. Kyle and I ordered the Nuevo Native Nachos to split…which was a blessing and a curse. On Sunday I broke my coffee-free streak. USVAB almond milk, Wholesome Sweetener organic vanilla agave, cinnamon. Artisana makes the best nutbutter, but it also happens to be the most $$$. Once this coconut butter is gone (which will be very soon), I will be making my own only. No room in this hippie’s budget for jars of something I can make on my own for a fraction of the price. After another LOOOOONG morning at the Natural Foods Expo, lunchtime rolled around and Kyle and I were beyond tired (read: ready to throw in the towel). We came, we saw, we conquered, and we were exhausted. Rather than return for another 5 hours of crowds and chaos, we decided that we had pretty much enjoyed everything Anaheim had to offer.
