These past few days I’ve been sick. You may have noticed since my posts haven’t been food journal style, but rather recipes, restaurant & product reviews. No worries, I’ve been downing Kombucha bottle by bottle, and I’m finally starting to feel ok-ish. This is all very timely, given my first day of work was yesterday. [Sigh] Figures. But anyways, as you can imagine, liquids have been a mainstay in my diet over the last 24 hours. Here’s one of the lovely liquid concoctions I “whipped up” between catnaps. As an aside, I’m always reluctant to… Read more >

Saturday was sponsored by the letter “b” apparently. Kyle and I woke up at 7 am to get in a morning jog. I hate working out early in the AM, but I love how it frees up the rest of the day. So conflicting. The reason I don’t like rise-and-shine cardio is because I suck at it. I’m slow in the mornings. I don’t really start to function until an hour (or two, if I’m being honest) after I’ve been awake. The route I took Saturday morning typically takes me 24 minutes (when I do… Read more >

Today was a full day. A wedding prep extravaganza kind of a day. Items now crossed off the to-do list: meeting with our pastor (for pre-marriage classes) invitation finalizing & printing (more) ring shopping (we finally got our wedding bands!) hair appointment-ing (no clue what I’m going to do with the mop I am rocking right now, but hopefully she’s got some ideas) closing my solo bank account (joint bank accounts, what, WHAT!) laundry gym time re-packing for yet another trip (back to New York this time!) That was thrilling for you to read about,… Read more >

Sunday was an absolutely GORGEOUS day in the Bay. I actually took this picture Saturday night when Kyle and I decided to take a stroll down memory lane (through Crissy Field). For new readers, it’s where Kyle proposed to me a year ago. It’s now two months until our wedding and I still feel as giddy as I did the day he popped the question. Anyways, back to Sunday morning… Kyle and I woke up bright and early, said goodbye to the Marina, and headed to the East Bay to spend Father’s Day with my… Read more >

How I love thee, let me count the ways… 1. Prepared foods bar As you are about to see, I’ve been going through a few obsessions. Whole Foods makes it dangerously easy to slip into food ruts because each dish is better than the last and meals require no effort whatsoever (aside from determining if you want the Kirstie Alley size or the more moderate portion) because they are already prepared. Fumi Tofu Salad I was first introduced to this glorious dish back in my college days, when the Whole Foods opened in Westwood and… Read more >
