I know Thanksgiving was ages ago, but I’m only just getting around to uploading photos and such because my week/end was SO packed I couldn’t be bothered to worry about blogging in a timely manner. Shorts and a tank top in late November…must be Southern California… For the first time in as long as I can remember ever (!!) I got the holiday – PLUS it’s surrounding days – off of work. Kyle and I took full advantage, and drove down to his parents’ house in San Clemente on Wednesday afternoon, to stay through… Read more >

Last weekend we went to Veggie Grill for takeout. You get a free entree for your birthday and since you have until the end of the month to use it, I was almost out of time! I decided to try something new (I figured since it was free I should order something that I wouldn’t ordinarily get). I hate to say it but I may have OD-ed on the All Hail Kale Salad. October 1: Spaghetti Squash with Marinara & Tofurky October 2: Quinoa & Seitan with Red Almond Sauce October 3: Mexican Layered Casserole October 4: Blue Plate’s vegan white bean soup and gardenburger salad October 5: Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie October… Read more >

My birthday week started last weekend with apple picking. After that we headed to lunch at Mendocino Farms. As much as I love the place, it’s not conveniently located for me. But since we had already been in the car for well over an hour, we figured what’s an extra few miles out of the way? Kyle got the Modern Tuna Melt which has “all white Albacore tuna with fresh herbs, farm house cheddar, vegenaise, housemade pickles, red onions, tomatoes, Scarborough Farm’s greens on panini grilled buckwheat.” He nixed the pickles, obviously, and deemed it… Read more >
