Whenever I go home to visit my parents I’m reminded about how lucky I am to have been raised with health in the forefront. The importance of eating well and staying active was a given, so I have never seen wellness as a chore. Eating balanced meals and participating in sports were, quite simply, just the norm. I now know that I was very fortunate to have grown up this way. Thank you mom and dad! Prior to my arrival, my mom had been to TJs to restock the bar stash. And hummus stash…. Read more >

I don’t have a particularly fantastic work schedule at the moment, but at least I’m on day shift for the entire month. So I’m certainly not complaining! After a sweaty morning sesh with Jillian, I enjoyed a scone before heading into the office hospital. Here’s the stash I brought along. What a snack scene! That would be, dehydrated apple rings, dark chocolate covered edamame, candied ginger, Nature’s Path Chococonut bar, mini PB cookie Larabar, mixed dried fruit, and a baggie of home-made cereal/nut/dried fruit trail mix. You probably do this too – make odd food pairings when your fridge is depleted beyond hope. Since I’m heading to Nor Cal this morning, it’s no wonder the last few days have been extremely random in the meal department. I’m trying desperately to use up all the fresh produce, which means I’m throwing blueberries in my salads (not as bad as you’d think) and pounding asparagus by the second (stinky urine much). My friend dropped off this crate two days ago and since Kyle hates asparagus, I’m single handedly attempting to not waste the… Read more >
