I was sloshing the morning away with all this liquid love. I’m a certified Amazing-Grass-a-holic. Chocolate luuurrve. By the way, this smoothie was made with frozen bananas and plain greek yog, and was the BEST version yet. I wish my blender actually crushed ice the way blenders are supposed to…for some reason I keep getting to the bottom of my “blended” drinks to discover 4 ice cubes balls with the corners knicked off…I guess I’ll just have to make do with this one until next summer because we have no room in our kitchen (or… Read more >

Are you scared of the title? Haha…don’t worry, I haven’t gone quite that hummus crazy (yet!). But I did bake a batch of falafel today, which looked pretty damn similar to (how I would picture) chickpea pastries. But before I went to town in the kitch, I got my breks-face on. Coffee. Froth. Bluebeezies. Chobani. I heart my antioxidants and Chobz knows how to do it right. The store has been running on empty in the greek yogurt department, so I finally was able to re-stock. I actually went to the grocery store at 9… Read more >

I know Independence wasn’t official until the 4th, but for the sake of my blogging and working schedule, I’m pretending America was born this Friday. Ya dig? On that note, what’s a 4th of July celebration without burgers? Vegan black bean/quinoa burgers of course! Kyle was on a flight to CA, so I had the day off with no agenda whatsoever, so I decided to spend some time cooking. I’ll be working the next 3 days in a row (Sat/Sun/Mon) so I wanna get stocked up to minimize (eliminate) my dinner prep. I’ve been wanting… Read more >

Remember back in the day when Facebook was new and cool and only for nerds college kids? Those were the good ‘ol days…now it’s open to everyone and their mother. And I mean that literally. Parents on a “social networking” site is just awkward. I’m sorry if it seems harsh, but I think all kids with mid-life-crisis-prone parents need to sit them down and explain to them what’s up. If we don’t stand strong now and prevent this from progressing, next thing you know you’ll be accepting “friend” requests from your college professors, or worse,… Read more >

Talk about karma. Sleeping in ‘til noon yesterday backfired hard core last night! Neither Kyle nor I could fall asleep, and as we watched the hours on the clock tick by, we finally decided enough was enough…so we got back up at 2 am and watched some tv. Sleep FAIL. At 4 am I still wasn’t tired, but I forced myself back to bed…Kyle fell asleep (lucky ^%$) while I tossed and turned until 6 am. Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to set my alarm, so instead of sleeping ‘til noon again, I… Read more >
